It does make sense because of Windows 8 and WP 8. But when WP9/Windows 9 release the name will loose its cache.

But then again as long as 8 > 4 MS has nothing to worry about in the number department.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Xbox Infinity sounds a bit better than Xbox 8 but both don't roll off the tongue like 360 does.

I think 'Xbox 8' would have quite a few consumers scratching their heads.

How about it just means "8 cores"? It has been pretty much confirmed with cores for dashboard, Kinect etc.

OT: Both "Xbox 8" or "Xbox Infinity" sound stupid. Then again, Wii was awful and we got used to it. And WiiU isn't better...
