"ony also released an NPD statement, though they didn’t provide any numbers. “According to the April NPD, the PlayStation ecosystem continues to grow with exclusive titles such as MLB 12: The Show landing in the top five SKUs. Digital-only titles, including Journey for PS3 and Escape Plan for PS Vita, helped to further bolster growth.” Nintendo declined to send an NPD report for this month in time for publish"

Nintendo refused to release NPD data according to IGN.

3DS must of had abyysmal numbers.

The Wii and 3DS numbers must be terrible.

That's surprising, surely anything would've looked ok compared to the Vita.

If Ninty is really refusing to put out numbers, that blows.

It was at least one way for us to more accurately determine the rest of the numbers.

Only 61K less than the year before, and 51K more than the year before that.

So, worse than 2011 but better than 2010.

2010 NPD Numbes

  • NDS - 440.8K
  • Wii - 277.2K
  • Xbox 360 - 185.4K
  • PS3 - 180.8K
  • PSP - 65.5K

  • Well this was fun. No data from Sony or Nintendo, and Xenoblade doesn't count...Excellent.

Well 360 did 371k last month. Dropped by 135k or more than 36%. A drop for Wii down to 100k would only be 43% and I don't think that's unlikely at all, given the state of the system

April is historically a lower month following March.  I think it has something to do with, in the US, April is tax time.

Not really. The 3DS is $80 cheaper and due to being out on the market for a full year  it has a lot more games.  Mario 3D land and Mario Kart 7 saved the system last holiday, but they now look like they'r'e only keeping the system afloat instead of sailing full speed ahead. Nintendo probably didn't release they're numbers due to the risk of bad press from the media.

But hey, Nintendo should have released more games this month. Aside from spirit camera they're were no real big games and Spririt Camera had terrible sales 6.5K.
