Very true statement, Miyamoto-san. I don't think some people fully read what he says, Miyamoto admitted that the 3DS didn't have a good start either, so BOTH systems were not doing well at launch.

And here's the quote: “When we launched the 3DS hardware we didn’t have Super Mario 3D Land, we didn’t have Mario Kart 7, we didn’t have Kid Icarus: Uprising,” he explained. “We were striving to have all of these ready for the launch, but we weren’t able to deliver them at that time.”

“We were kind of hoping that people would, nevertheless, buy into the product, find 3DS hardware promising; but looking back we have to say we realize the key software was missing when we launched the hardware.”

See? He admits that the 3DS didn't launch well. But, right now we're talking about the Vita and it's not doing so well either. What it definetly needs now are games to sell the hardware. Despite being a very high spec console, others don't want it if it doesn't have anything they want to play on it. I think E3 will turn some heads for the system and I'm eagerly waiting to see what Sony has plan for it now.

Correction: It's been out for over 4 months in Japan. I think Miyamoto was talking about Japan in general.

the same was said about the 3ds. And from that experience we all learn that in order to judge a system, you should give it 1 year on the market
