RE LOL haha funny story!!  XD.    Even though CHRISTmas is more about gifts  and santa, it is a good thing that your kids have a really happy and enjoyable experience in that date.

Was the capitilization of "Christ" in Christmas intended? Or was that just a coinkidink?

I also just noticed that you, Gilgamesh, are posting something about Christmas when it is quite far away and something about Easter which has already past. Are you losing ideas? XD

mmm...Not sure if serious lol XD

It was intented, (as you may have noticed by the ideas that followed the word CHRISTmas).  CHRISTmas "main" reason of existance  (I would say it is the ONLY reason, but we would start to argue about things off-topic) is to celebrate the birth of JESUS CHRIST, the son of GOD.   I Hope that clears your doubts XD

This thread is killing the spirit of Christ-mas for me. I like dogmas.

Ok... so does Dogma mean Rule? Or what?

I wasn't actually being serious. XD

Look! Now you are capitilizing everything having to do with Christianity!

Dog moss? Never heard of it. Although if you are ever lost in the woods, moss grows mostly on the northern parts of trees. So moss means north.

My kids are 9, 8, and 6. They all still believe in all of that. I find it enjoyable and magical for the respective holidays. I figure they'll figure it out on their own and no reason to bust their bubble.

Funny last year my now 9yr old was in the car with my wife and one of his classmates on a field trip. On the ride there they were talking about Christmas. Santa came up and my son is telling her how Santa always leaves some dirt in our floor where he creates his chimney with magic. The girls says, 'what, don't you know your parents do all that?'. He laughs and says 'no way... there is no way parents could do all that in one night'... she was about to continue arguing with him but she saw my wife's frowned face in the rear-view mirror and just was silent. lol

If they didn't believe... the holidays would be empty. Its a drastic difference in houses without that magic.

I understand for adult they love that, there kids being so excited about this mystical beings, hell even my parents told me they missed that when I was a child, but what about the kids when they realize its fake, what do you think there thoughts would be of there parents?

We're not Christians.... so yeah, it pretty much only family, decorations, gifts, and jolly ol santa.

If you are not CHRISTians, nor Catholic, then you are celebrating something else my friend.   Do you have a clue why CHRIST is in the word CHRISTmas?? It is because Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.    And people (mostly kids) receive presents because it is a representation of the gifts baby Jesus received in Bethlehem.

I dont mean to begin a religious debate, so if you are a non religious person just continue to do what you enjoy.

I already told you that I don't have resentment towards my parents because of that. I threw a little fit because, as a kid, everyone loves Santa. So I was sad, but I got over it and it doesn't affect my Parents Relationships with me, in any way.
