Your reaction is irrational. What would you do if someone took a bacterial culture similar in composition to that in intestines and licked that? It would be 100% as dangerous but you wouldn't feel that disgust.

Uh yeah that would be pretty much just as disgusting. And why the hell is my reaction irrational? 0_o  I find all manners of that type of thing disgusting (especially since my brain gives me a mental picture for everything I read).

Just that humans are programmed to have an disproportionate disgust response when feces or rectums are involved. A rational response would be the same one as situation with the same amount of implied risk.
