Forums - Gaming - You ever get a feeling the world doesn't think the same way you do about games?

I never speak negatively about Call of Duty, but on the other hand, I also have absolutely zero interest in playing it. Doesn't appeal to me at all. The only FPS games I've ever been able to tolerate were Halo for PC and Goldeneye for N64.

Same here, If people like it, it's not a problem for me.

I think that forums in general are totally out of synch with all other gamers. For example, some games are hyped a lot on the internet, as Alan Wake, Modnation Racers, etc, but they don't sell as well as we think, because the internet can't give an exact picture of the market.

I love Call of Duty.

I despise Call of Duty. It is destroying gaming. And I despise other huge dumbed down games who steal sales from sophisticated games. Games that will never even be created because the masses are tricked into dumb entertainment.

Absolutely, every time I see Nintendo harware numbers. I was tricked into buying a DS but I hated it. I gave 3DS a chance too, feel the same about it. I definitely like Nintendo games though, I really enjoyed NSMB on the DS(and I've played some other Mario games on DS as well, they were all good). Wish it was available on Vita.

No offence intended, it is just how I feel about it.

any food snob will tell you McDonalds sucks but we all know McDonalds sells way more food then the "good" restaurants.

the point is, anyone who is invested enough in gaming to post about it on vgchartz is a video game snob.

There are a lot of Children/Teenagers in this world, of course it'll sell well. Whether Forum Goers think it's good or not doesn't matter to them.

But for some reason you like the HD consoles. Looks like a conflict of interest for someone who comes from the PC gaming side.

It sure is a conflict.  Sometimes it's like I suddenly wake up from a dream and ask myself "am I really just playing garbage?", "who decided that only the big games like Call of Duty, Uncharted and Assassin's Creed are dumbed down interactive movies for the masses, aren't 99% of all modern HD games in fact severely dumbed down compared to PC gaming a decade years ago?".

If I'm honest when I played World at War years ago I thought it was wonderful, this compares to playing Modern Warfare 3 last year which I thought was dreadful. It's a franchise now lacking in any unique aspects and people still don't see it yet.

Quite sad isn't it? It's even more sad when you look at the PS3 10 Million Sellers Thread... just shows how much society seems to like it.

I initially thought this thread is going to be about the whole world playing Angry Birds and Facebook shovelware while only a few people who read and post on gaming forums playing normal games.

On topic: I wasn't really interested in CoD for the most time, but most likely will join the crowd later this year with sci-fi CoD: Black Ops 2 and the Vita one.
