It isn't bad. It's just that there are a lot of people on VGChartz who like to complain about things that weren't made for them and/or lament the fact that their favorite genre isn't very popular, thus taking their frustrations out on something that is popular.

Well, that's my interpretation.

Yeah I feel that my opinion differs with the majority of gaming forum users.

The worst was when Dragon Age 2 was released, and every forum was full of hate for that game. Personally I enjoy it the game a lot and don't really understand that hate it gets.

Similar with COD, I'm not sure why there is so much hate for the game. The game has a huge following and people enjoy playing it. I assume a lot of it has to do with the feeling that they're being screwed over by publishers.

So...my designation of casual or hardcore is not dictated by the games I play but rather by the games I spew hate at?

Kind of. It's we assume you are a casual. Until you hate on a set group of games. Proving that you are hardcore.

While I can certainly understand the frustration when yet another COD outsells a favorite game within a few hours after release, the level of hostility towards COD is just unreal. I am personally appalled by how 'low' God of War III's sales are but I wouldn't blame COD for that because that doesn't make any sense. COD didn't cause GOW's 'low' sales, it's just more of a niche product.

Dota / Dota 2 > League of Legend
Street Fighter > Mortal Kombat
Demon / Dark Soul > Skyrim
Ninja Gaiden > God of War
Half-Life / CS > Call of Duty
PC FPS > Consoles FPS

I'm kidding.

I think that there are too few good Hack´n Slash games Like Castlevania, God of War and Devil May Cry. And I kinda have the feeling that today everthing has to be open World. Sometimes I really like open world games like Xenoblade Chronicles but I would like to see more Story driven linear games, that you can complete in about 10-15 hours and games like this you can replay several times.

Yes, Super Mario Sunshine is one of my all time favs.

I find CoD multiplayer boring as hell and single player short and repetitive, also wRpgs dont get all the hate they deserve and Japanese games are instantly labeled as niche.

I'm appalled at how often people bash (or praise) a game they haven't played. It's insanity.
