Forums - Sony - Get 60 Minutes of Skype Credit for Free for the PS Vita

Terminal Gamer

If you currently own a PS Vita, and have an active PlayStation Network account. Sony has a gift for you.

Details after the jump.

Emails are now being sent out containing a voucher code for 60 minutes of calling time for your Skype account. Now that the PS Vita has the Skype app, you can use it anywhere via wifi or 3G. Using the free 60 minutes, you can call landlines or non-skype cell phones as well.

With Skype for the PS Vita you can:

Make voice and video calls over 3G and WiFi from your PS Vita System and keep in touch with anyone, anywhere in the world. Whether you’re playing a game or browsing the web, Skype is always on, so friends and family can always stay in contact.

Talk face-to-face people on Skype with the PS Vita’s front facing camera or show them what’s in front of you using the rear facing camera – it’s as if they’re right there with you.

If you are a current PS Vita owner, keep an eye on your inbox for an email from Sony. Free is always good.

I got that for the PSP...still haven't use it.

I always assumed Skype was free...it's not? Never used it mind you.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

I'm so happy Skype is on Vita, all of my family are on Skype and I'm always talking to them on it. Now I can talk to them on it anywhere.

Skype on my iPhone is free?

It's different, you need to pay for landline and mobile calls, not Skype to Skype chats.

Skype to Skype calls/im is free. Using skype to call cellphones/landlines cost money.
