Forums - Sony - Mortal Kombat Vita is a hit with Critics! Is this the game the West has been waiting for?

Like with BB and UMvC it's a perfect port in every regard with graphics slightly dumbed down to keep it the 60fps standard expected of the fighting genre. The game will only be as good as it originally was on console even with the Vita specific content meaning it will be in the 80s on Metacritic but won't outdo Rayman Origins. I honestly see SFxT Vita selling better due to it coming with every piece of DLC and unlocking that DLC onto your PS3 copy of the game free of charge, whereas consoles already have MK Komplete with all DLC for as low as $30.

SSF4 3D also got good reviews, but it didn't sell many 3DS's. I doubt most ports of recent games do much to move hardware.

so, you have to have bought sfxt on the ps3 and sfxt on the vita so that you can get the dlcs for free on the ps3? two copies of the same game? i wouldn't call that free of charge, more like "hey sucker, go buy a vita copy too and you get dlc for the ps3 for free and it'll only cost you the price of a full game for your vita".

the dlc is iirc priced at $20. If you have a vita then this is a very very good deal

i still dont see it, don't know if game streaming for the vita has been enabled, but if you already have a ps3 version, then just stream it to your vita. no sense it spending more money on the same game.

I don't know about 'unlocking it on the PS3' that's something I've not heard of, but I believe what he means is that all the content that will be DLC for the console versions, will be included at the standard retail price for the Vita version (like a GOTY edition of a game). There also happen to be 5 Sony exclusive characters, so the sales will be skewed further towards the Vita/PS3 versions.

stream? I'm guessing you are referring to remote play? that's not enabled. The fact of the matter is if you own a vita this is a fantastic game. If you own a ps3 version of the game as well and haven';t bought the dlc, you can get a vita game and the ps3 versions dlc with it. You basically are spending 20 bucks on the game. If you don't have a vita you obviously won't see the value of this.

fighters work great on handhelds..especially on sony handhelds. They worked great on the psp and so far have worked amazingly well on the vita. I personally will end up buying all these fighting games sooner or later. I love having fighters on the go.
