Valve and IGN tease Half-Life fans

Recent Twitter updates have left fans speculating that Valve is preparing their community for a massive announcement and posts by IGN that seem to tie in to this are possibly hinting at an update on the Half-Life series.

Earlier today IGN tweeted a famous line straight out of the G-Man intro from Half-Life 2, “Wake up and smell the ashes”. In conjunction with this Steam Support posted the following, “Be sure to check out all the #Valve feeds: http://bit.ly/IOMbeD

While other believe this may as well be prepping fans for “Meet the Pyro” or that this is simply a coincidence, we want to believe that this year will be, when we finally here what lies ahead for Gordon Freeman.

“Rise and shine, Mr. Freeman. Rise and shine. Not that I wish to imply you have been sleeping on the job. No-one is more deserving of a rest. And all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until… well, let’s just say your hour has come again. The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So, wake up, Mr. Freeman. Wake up and smell the ashes.”

[Update: More signs are pointing in the direction of HL3, a forum post brought to light that the half-life3.com website has seen an update on April 29 ( network-tools check under "Update Date")]

So, what is this? Valve just messing us about again, something totally not HL3? Or could it finally be?

Well I am looking forward to the continuation of the series, but it doesn't matter how soon the next one comes for me as I won't be able to play it till I get a new laptop (which is probably a couple of years away unless my current one goes caput)

Well, I still want it. You can come over and play it on my spare computer which could probably max it out.

Imagine if Half Life 3 was a PC and Wii U title. THAT would explode the internets.

Half Life 3? Half Life 2 Ep 3? Or is this a tease of the Steam Box coming from the ashes of the other consoles? Valve always has something interesting up their sleeves.

Yes it would.

Oh man, maybe they'll finally announce Ricochet 2!

Valve: "No announcement at E3"

Valve today announced that at E3 (05:06:12 to 07:06:12) in Los Angeles they will not present any new games or make any announcements, the developer wants to show only games that have already been announced (Counter-Strike: Global offensive, dota 2, etc.)

So what do you think about this? Is Gamefront wrong? Are Valve plain lying to us? Or are we going to be hugely dissapointed for yet another year?

oh please let it be HL3! come on you lazy bastards!
