I would but I can't fin the prediction thread for lbp and I assure you you will see plenty of people claiming 10millions was very possible

Mario and Pokemon are too strong. They're both IPs that sells in the 10s of millions and help push Smash Bros into 10+million seller. Even Cloud or Resident Evil third party characters won't be enough. I'd honestly be surprised if this game sells well at all, as that title is a bloody unnecessary mouthful that people will most likely forget to write down on their wishlists.

Even though I am a Sony fan, and I like how the game is shaping; I dont think it will surpass SSB in sales; but I think that it will sell 5-6M. Which is quite good for a new franchise.

I'm a die hard PS fan, as some here may know, but All-Stars doing 7-8 million lifetime is VERY optimistic in my opinion. I can see 2 million easily, but probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 to 4 million for lifetime sales seems about right to me. While Sony does have some very notable mascots, sadly they do not have the selling power of Mario and Pokemon as Salnax said.

7.5 million is:

Higher than the current sales of GT5
Higher than final sales of Cod:MW on the PS3
The highest sales of a game aimed at core audiences not from an established franchise this generation.
The highest sales of a game aimed at core audiences not from an established franchise since the original GT.

This is a game we know nothing about, from a genre with only 1 successful series in it. Don't you know it's a bit early to be predicting such ridiculous success? Now, thanks to this, when it comes out, you'll be disappointed, even if it sells well (i.e. around 4-5 million)

The problem with this game will be in Japan. I would be surprised if it sells more than 500k over there even if it has Final Fantasy characters. My guess is more like 250k.

You're overestimating some of those figures. Spyro and Crash are irrelevant, Sweet Tooth was never really big, Sackboy is not going to move a million by himself, and there's been no news about 3rd party characters yet. You might as well say that PlayStation Move Heroes should have sold a million based solely on its roster.

That was a wasted oppertunity. It would probably have reached those numbers if they hadn't made so many mistakes. For instance, making it minigame based with no multiplayer.. That makes No sense.

When people originally heard about it, I saw some excitement online.

Let's hope they manage to get this one right.

I think it will possible but not in this gen. Normaly sales of games slow down when the end of the gen nears.
Perfekt example is God of War 2. Its was way better than God of War 1 and it couldnt sell more than God of War 1 because it released so late in the gen. (And i think the same will happen with God of War Ascention)

If it will have a chance to do that it will be on PS4 and only if the pS4 will sell more than the Wii U and x Box 720.

But i would really like to see that szenario happen.

Again, what cracks me up even more is the fact that others can't "judge" the quality of the game or how poor it will sell as a result of being a carbon copy of what is on the Wii, just because we only have "not all the info" about it. But when it comes to fucking ludicrous sales, IT CAN DO IT.

Although judging by the posts, even some of the more hardcore sony fans are calling Gilgamesh deluded, which is well placed in this thread.
