If you read the statement he clearly says "so called" he was referring solely to graphical power. By definition the Wii was most definitely a 6th generation system. It was new hardware released in this generation with new technology. Graphics do not entirely determine generations.. otherwise the PSOne would not have been the same generation as N64. WiiU is a next generation system as well.
