Thats a bit much to be honest.

The world requires honest work in order to function. The world does not need CEOs who get paid 12 million dollars. This is true for every single functional economic system and social order conceived.

How much do pop stars and star athletes get paid?

It's the same deal.

It also makes me realize just how much some of these CEO's get paid. I look at the CEO of the company I work for and think "Wow, he makes more in 1 year than I make in 10." He is paid ~$400k/year with ~$300k more on top of that for a bonus. We are a ~100M/year company.

You know what bonus the everyday worker that slaves at his job working 60-70/week gets? Nothing. His hard work goes into making the company money and getting the units completed and shipped out on time so that the CEO and other big boys can reap the benefits.

It truly does suck.

Athletes, especially Baseball athletes, where you can be a pitcher who averages a 4.40 ERA and loses 12+ games a year while still making ~10M/year.

I called the union and told them I would lose 15 games and pitch to a 5.00 ERA for only 500k/year, but they wouldn't take me.

If I am not mistaken, I also believe music artists make their money on tours and not on record sales. Most of the money from the record sales go to the publisher.

But the publishers need all that money to protect the artists from privacy and second hand market.

I would hate to be a performer and watch how all the work I do doesn't benefit me the most.

Some CEOs probably deserve to make a lot of money (hard to say whether they deserve 380x without a detailed study).

Many others deserve an orange jumpsuit, especially the last few rounds of CEOs in the financial industry, whose contributions to society include mostly screwing up everyone's (including government's) finances, lobbying for unethical favors for their companies at the expense of others, and the list of misdeeds goes on...

I don't have a problem with CEO's earning large salaries, but I have abig problem with companies giving them bonuses that can be as large as their yearly salary, even during a bad year. I also think that CEO's should make some sacrafices if their decisions have caused layoffs in the company (maybe cut back to 6million/year and keep some employess employed).

Don't be so mean, we already punished them hard by making them working at the same jobs.
