Mass Effect 3 was recieved quite well by most aside from the ending. Also, most seem to identify it as a shooter-RPG hybird so i don't think those two will mess up legs too much.

It is dropping faster than God of War 3 though. I'm thinking that pre-holiday (about late August), it'll be about 500k behind God of War 3. However, I'm expecting an impressive holiday where it'll only be behind God of War 3 by about 300k, which leaves it at 3.2m.

Unexciting week overall, with two notable exceptions, The Witcher 2 launch on XB360 and 3DS huge HW and SW performance in Japan (although WW, despite the huge early price cut it's very far away from recovering what DS lost).

What is there to say that hasn't already been said. This generation is pretty much set in stone and there hasn't been any high profile games released recently.

I had always said that it would sell similarly to God of War 3. So, here's a comparison between the two:

Mass Effect 3 is currently tracking only 100k behind God of War 3, which went on to sell 3.5 million in it's first year.

* Note that Mass Effect 3's first week of tracking was ten days before God of War 3's. So it'll have a week more than God of War 3 for it's first year.

It should do 3.2m by the end of the year, unless it has  a pretty lackluster holiday. We'll see. I think it'll be close though.


Mass Effect 3 has got almost a 50% pricecut 3 weeks after launch by TheHut group, its 23 pounds for every system now. Is it not selling well?
