Game looks beautiful, but I prefer single player RPGs. If I was still in college I would probably play this for a few months.

Nintendo's Year? I would say yes.
So, first you buy Dragon Quest X, then you have to buy a 16GB USB flash drive, then you have to pay per month to play it?
Ouch!
I wonder if I download this, could I play it on my US Wii during "Kiddy Time"?
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

If FF14 could sell over 0.64 million with its reviews on the PC alone, then DQX can sell a million on just the Wii, and another million on the Wii U.
Still can't believe they took the classic dragon quest and now turning it into a piece of shit MMO. Hope it Flops bad.
Atto Suggests...:
Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series
Game - Metro Last Light
TV - Deadwood
Music - Forest Swords

Japanese PC sales? |
To my knowledge, they aren't recorded on this website. However, according to this article, almost 200,000 copies were shipped in Japan by late 2010, and if American numbers are any indication, they've sold more than that in Japan. And that's not including downloadable sales.
FF14 was no glorious sucess, but it ultimately did decently, and will do better once a PS3 port comes along. Dragon Quest X will probably be a far better received game, will be released on the most popular platform this generation, and will soon be released on a next gen system also. Even if my 2 million guess is a bit much, I can see this selling well in Japan and having some tens or hundreds of thousands of subscribers for years.
I think the only problem here is the system it's being released.
Wii is dying and Wii U is new - bad combination for a game this size.
Other than that, it may surprise people. And going by the trailers, it's a very different MMO, at least in style.
But I still can't get over the fact SE didn't released DQ7 Remake for the wii to prepare the crowd, get them awake!

Mario's coming out the same month. August must be the new May.
