Interesting, but just image the rage involved when your computer doesn't act responsively...kind of like when you keep seeing them swiping and nothing happening. At home that might result in punching. Hopefully things all work out.

Also, they must be getting paid by how many times they say App. App must be the new word....or the old word that Microsoft is just starting to use in such excess that it becomes sickening to hear it.

Of course it won't be like that once the ultrabook actually comes out.

OT: Of course. The only reason I can see anyone buying normal tablet over a ultrabook tablet hybrid is because you want to save money by getting a cheaper tablet.

Yeah. Touchscreens are getting better all the time anyway, besides you can always nix touchscreen altogether. Windows Surface is looking beast.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

This isn't even new. Asus has had Transformer tablets that convert into laptops for well over a year now, and the series is not only currently considered the best tablets out there, but also are priced cheaper than iPads and are fairly popular.

Why are there so many people in this thread that seemingly don't even know about them?

Probably because its by Asus and it's only running Android OS and not Windows, though I'm not entirely sure all what's out there. But yeah this stuff isn't too new. Didn't Sony showcase a tablet laptop last year? I haven't heard anything about it since though.

I just mean, people are talking in this thread like it's an incredible ingenius thing that it's got the whole "laptop, OR tablet!!!" feature.

And I'm pretty sure before Asus released the Transformers, there were third-party keyboard attachments for iPads (though those probably sucked in comparison, nor did they offer an additional up to 32GB storage or extra battery life like the Asus tablet's keyboard).

I could care less about the Windows RT, it's the Windows 8 Pro that's attractive.

no way tablets disappear completely...

it is all about fit-for-purpose...

if i am taking a lot of notes in meetings i want a keyboard on an ultra book. if i am on a cramped airplane, i want just a tablet, if i want gaming i want a smokin desktop pc, and for a portable desktop pc i want a high end big screen laptop, and when i dont have any of those i will use my smart phone.

some people will buy them all, others will have a few devices, others will only buy one... The nice thing... Now everyone has form factor choice!
