Nintendo has just revealed New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. And it's coming this August. Excited right? Well, some people aren't looking forward to this title. In fact some want this to be a 3D Mario game. Why? I don't know. So here's my question to you. Do you want a 2D Mario game or a 3D Mario game? Also, is 2D Mario better than 3D Mario or the other way around?

I want twice as much a good 2D Mario game as I want a good 3D Mario game. The demand is twice as high.

3D games are always (always, sunshine haters :D) fantastic.

But 2D Marios are video games in a nutshell. The games to show the aliens when they arrive. To take to the past when the time machine's discovered. To be exposed in the louvre, even though the reason it's good is because it isn't art.

Super Mario 64 is the best Mario I have ever played... so 3D.

But after Mario 64 my favorites are 2D: Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World.

Having said what I said above, despite market demand, actually I take it back: I want more 3D mario personally. It's just my taste. But I do like both for sure. Like ethomaz, Mario 64 to date is still my favorite Mario game.

I grew up and learned gaming with 2D Mario. I will always prefer the 2D games over the (nevertheless) still excellent 3D games.

My top three Mario games are still Super Mario World, Super Mario Bro's 2 and Super Mario64. But if they put Shy Guys in a Mario game again I will buy it (I'll also buy the system if I don't have it). Also give me Snifit and Ninji!

Are people aware that Super Mario 3D Land came out November of last year? That was a 3D Mario on the 3DS. Now you want NSMB2 to be a 3D Mario game? Huh? How does that make sense? Why do I want another 3D Mario a few months after the last one?! It's been 3 years since NSMB Wii and 6 years since a portable 2D Mario came out. Quit b*tching about a good thing and enjoy some 2D Mario goodness.

I'll be buying it for sure
