I should probably start with praising Nintendo and the game instead, right? Jump on the circlejerk-train

Wut? No. It's equally wrong to praise the game and to call it trash/copy this early.

I never called it trash or a copy. I'm criticising what I see before me. Now, Nintendo has to work for me to stop criticising the game and we'll see if that happens.

either praise or criticize a game for  this little piece of info its retarded.

No, it's not. That's like saying the DS version had the same content as the Wii version just because the first levels had the same theme.

Same theme? The exact same look you mean. This is one of the only things we know so far, so I'm judging from what I see.

So offensive to compare people who like the game to that, you were really mad, waiting to use that word since the reveal, I bet!

What word? circlejerk? Not sure how you understand it but here is an explanation:

"Oftentimes 'circle-jerking' will occur during meeting times when people feel the need to express their own opinions over and over for the sake of hearing their own voice. "

Edit: And why would I wait since the reveal? It's a good word that describes the situation nicely. Anyone with a slightly negative viewpoint is not allowed to express it.

How you're not allowed to express your opinion? You're saying it's bad, people are saying it's not bad. Ah, who cares... I just entered this useless discussion, because at least to me, circlejerk is offensive. And even with that use from the "Urban Dictionary" the one "circlejerking" is the thread author, who's telling the same thing over and over and over.

Same crap. New game.

Mario - Nintendo's Call of Duty.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, now that was a low blow, ouch.

But seriously, Nintendo coming under heat from fans for their beloved franchises? IMPOSSIBLE.

People like to complain about games like COD being the same thing over and over again, but I never heard anyone complain about pokemon being the same. Its the same thing, except its been going on for two decades. These kinds of practices only exists because we as consumers promote them with our wallets.

As always, if you don't like whats going on, don't buy it. Nintendo isn't holding you at gunpoint to play Mario......

We'll see what happens when the game comes out.  Although I was being sarcastic, I have to admit that it looks as though not much is being changed for this outing.  The levels really do look nearly identical to NSMB Wii.

Yea I knew you were being sarcastic and I personally don't really care about Nintendo putting out what some may call recycled content to some extent. Its just that people tend to overlook Nintendo doing such things because its Nintendo. Nonetheless, heck I buy every installment of pokemon that comes  out even if a lot of them have 50% the same content as the previous game, but thats just because whatever new they added is too much fun to miss out on.

That said, I'm sure they will add in new things to add to the experience even if its fundamentally very similar to NSMB 1, just like most good sequels do.

First time we saw NSMBWii, people had this issue. Mario games will never look brilliant, as the idea of them being cartoony gives them their unique look. Let's wait to see it in action, eh?

Also, if you choose not to play what may well be GOTY because of a slight, and I stress slight, graphical issue, then more fool you really...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Oh, come on.  Nintendo make a good game?

*there goes that sarcasm again*

I think the diference here is the the  time between each iteration. That makes people overlook those facts. Have they be yearly releases people would get really tired form mario platformers, more so if they were the same genre (only 2d mario, only 3d mario). I found pokemon expansion too soon tough, it's a nice change of peace but still too soon for me.

There is one fundamental difference

New SMB -- DS; New SMB 2 -- 3DS

New SMB Wii -- Wii; New SMB Mii -- WiiU

Nintendo is releaseing these revisions/updates for new systems. Only the inclusion of backward compatability (allowing the old game on the new system) has people making this out to be a rehasing akin to Activision (6 unique CoD titles this generation).

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

has anyone seen the game in motion in here!? or in 3D, because if you have not, then what u are discussing in here is all shit

^He's absolutley right. It's very hard to judge a 3D game when you don't see it in 3D and in motion. I have judged games in the past by still shots that looked like crap, but then looked awesome in motion.

I think Nintendo has two very different Mario franchises. They have their 3D Mario games and their New Super Mario Bros games. The NSMB games cater to a wider audience than the 3D Mario games, so they alternate them. Though the NSMB games don't seem as inventive they each do something very interesting that other franchises try to emulate. Like the 4 player co-op in NSMB Wii. Though Not everyone loved this mode, it was great for parties and for families to play together. Maybe not great if you want to finish the game, good to have fun in a group.

I say as long as they keep making the 3D Mario games for us, don't buy the NSMB games if you aren't interested in them. If they stop making the 3D Mario games, or start making poor quality 3D Mario games, then it would be a good time to complain.
