Whatever happens, both games will give 360 a major hardware boost. Funny since one game is a multiplat.

didn't MS get exclusive content and exclusive ads for 5 years or so?  not so much funny as RoI.

Exclusive DLC and advertising makes a big difference in the real world, which is what really matters, but here the PS3 guys still consider it a PS3 game.

It sells 11 million+ on the PS3 (and in 2012, MW3 has sold more on the system). Of course it's also a PS3 game.

OT: Is there confirmation of that? I still don't think these games are going head-to-head in the same week. Just makes little sense when most will likely get just one or the other - regardless of the one they choose. I also agree with Seece on the bundles, Black Ops 2 won't have one (at least not a themed one).

Don't think so no, people are just assuming they'll both release in the same week :S

Around the Network

why did they move it to release to nov? halo 3 odst and reach released in sept

idk about the price drop for that week but seeing 2010 numbers MS has had successes doing it much earlier

So Halo 4 is coming in the same week as Black Ops 2 wich is crazy, Call of Duty will sell more but Mw3 numbers wont be possible anymore at least on 360.

Many people will abandon Cod and go with Halo 4 the SUPERIOR GAME but this might be an INSANE week for 360, with the price drop coming and this insane IPS plus with all the Kinect ads and games that come in holidays Xbox is on for a ride.

Crazy stuff.

Is that a fact? As far as I am concerned, that is not written in stone new developer, new trilogy, and who knows, maybe BO2 will be a AAA title Arent we a bit carried away?

OT: yep, that would be massive, but there are plenty of buts there Final year as the sole Xbox console on the market, yet the 30 might break records

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

But it sells at least 2 million more on 360 but most importantly only 360 gets a hardware boost. The MW3 bundle was pretty significant

Point being, November will see 2 hardware boosts for 360. People tend not to buy a PS3 just for COD, that only goes for 360.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

November

Week 1 - Halo 4
Week 2 - COD
Week 3 - Price cut
Week 4 - Black Friday

= Biggest Nov NPD ever!

I think Microsoft will time its price cut with the Wii U launch. I doubt Wii U will launch so late into November.

Well I'm pretty sure that MS/Activ contract runs out with MW3.

@bold
It IS a PS3 game........

I think it's MW that gets a 360 bundle, not the other COD's.

Yah. PS3 even got a Black OPs bundle even though it was pretty late.

It goes both ways. I know a few people who bought a PS3 just for COD. It has free online so they play single player on 360 and multiplayer on PS3.
Anyway 360 only gets Modern Warfare bundles. There won't be one for Black Ops 2. so there will only be 1 hardware boost this November.

Talking about november. Not many are talking about Assassin's Creed 3. The biggest game for Ubisoft. :)

OT: Yea the awesome Kinect games are surely going to help.

As CGI said Call of Duty is as much a PS3 game as it is a 360 game.

Even without a 'special' console it will likely boost HW sales a little bit somewhere.
