The New Play Control Pikmin uses the Wii-mote for control, which seemed like a great idea, but really, the Gamecube original was designed perfectly from the start.  The worst things about NPC, however, are the bugs and glitches that aren't in the GC original.  Moving your troops under bridges in certain levels can result in your pikmin disappearing and essentially dying for no reason.  I would definitely recommend playing the GC originals.

OT:  This is great news, as I think the touch screen will prove masterful in controlling the Pikmin.  Also, it will probably be one of the prettiest launch games for the system as well, so I am very excited to see how it turns out.

I'm not getting my hopes up yet I've been waiting since forever. It always feels the same. Always disappointed  "It will appear this E3!"

The problem is that I've assumed it will make an appearance at E3 every year since it was unofficially announced by Miyamoto in 2008...

This is a game I am looking forward to, Wii U level visuals could really help in this style of game coupled with touch-screen controls, a match made in heaven.

Miyamoto has never said it would appear on any of the E3s until now so why not believe it? lol

That is true to the best of my knowledge as well.  I'm pretty confident that we'll see it this year.

I can't imagine how Pikmin 3 would flow as a game compared to it's predecessors so I'm hoping for an announcement this E3.

I'm just seriously hoping they don't ruin it... I would be quite the mad Ninty Fan.
