LOL @ JayWoods meltdown!
Congrats to PS3, it deserved those sales & hopefully we'll be able to see strong sales throughout this year. I really want another increase in total YTD sales this year.
PS3 needs another real slimline version priced at $199, that would really shake things up.

Can they make a slimmer version? PS3 sales can explode if they slim down the console to something like the PSTwo slim at 199, that was really thin!

Last year price cut proved that PS3 market are close to a saturation point. Not even exclusives made sales jump more than 20% for 2 or 3 weeks.
Plus, Blackfriday sales showed that 360 sweet price point is US$150. I think the same thing is true for PS3, as 360 and Ps3 are twin systems with 90% of games being released on both.
The thing is that PS3 is minor on Holidays, 3DS and 360 had a huge boost last holiday and PS3 had a minor boost, then even America and Japan on holidays do big boost to M$ and Nintendo, about europe it's dificult to tell, since we are the big SONY market
Given 3DS is almost 300K ahead of PS3 already, and PS3 seems to be the weakest console at holiday time now I think it's very safe to say 3DS will be top of the combined handheld and home console pile.
Will be interesting to see if PS3 can build up a lead to stave off 360's Kinect fueled holiday charge again.
I don't expect Wii U to make up for the months of not being on the market, though it could potentially kick serious arse during the holidays.

I see. But that's only for the month of April. Not really relevant in the grand scheme of things whenever it contains things like database entries and picture uploads.
I bought both in 2011 - love em both. Two awesome consoles so don't care who sells more (lies - love the PS3 but I've always got the love for Ninty).

Most of the users for the most part are to most active users. But you're right, it's not perfect, i said make with it what you will.

@ bold
I'm sure it can. It's already ~200K ahead of where it was at this time last year.
