Forums - Sales - Vita 2012 Predicted Sales Chartz 4.08 mil

Vita saw a large gain of 30,347. Jumping from 19k to 32k in North America, 31k to 41k in Europe, and 4k to 12k in Japan. A 51% increase. Noticable releases include Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified selling 65k units in its first 5 days.

Next week will see the results of adding PS Plus to Vita and the upgrades from the 2.0 update, along with Persona 4 Golden and PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale. That along with Black Friday offering Vita bundles for $199 will result in large numbers from the almost 1 year old device. The expectation is 117% yielding 194k units. Any one care to guess the actuall number? I'm shooting for 300k.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I think it could still reach 5 million by new year even though it has start selling more now to achieve it

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Eh. This week's "prediction" is an extrapolation from what should have been the Vita's most successful week of the season, and it's still 650k off.

I don't mean its highest-selling week, I mean the week it has the greatest advantage over the projection. Declassified was supposed to give it that edge. To hit 5 mil, it'll have to outperform the projections extrapolated from this week by almost 100k every week on average.

It's not happening.

You may think i'm deluded but we will just wait and see, who is closest. Me at 5m or the thread at 4.35m, we will see what happens soon enough

It seems that you were a bit optimistic with your prediction.

Sales are significantly below expectations, rising only 57% as opposed to the 117% predicted. The brunt of the sales come from the United States with 81k at a 166% increase due to Black Friday, a 52k gain. While Europe increase by 5k to reach 45k and Japan down to 9k from 13k. Notable software include Persona 4 Golden which sold 95k in the US bumping it to the 3rd highest selling Vita game at .34 million while still awaiting the launch in Europe. PlayStation All Stars sold 130k on PS3 in the US, a cross buy title, while the Vita version made the charts the expected sales according to pre order figures is around 20k. EU sales pending, Japan launch pinned for next year. PS Plus also launched that week.

Frankly I am dissapoint. I expected more gamers to take up the discount offerings. The system with a game and a memory card for $199 was a good deal, and while there are still some deals around more people should have bit. Perhaps the system was overshadowed by the surprising turn outs for 360, Wii, and DS. Also the Wii U launched that week.
