Forums - Nintendo - Official Fire Emblem: Awakening thread- European DLC 16/5 out now!

This is why I don't pre-order games, there's rarely ever a reason to do it. Gamestop didn't have the game but Target did.

Normally, I am the same but I had a $15 off coupon and Fire Emblem is the only demo, I've played over 10 times so it seemed logical at the time two weeks ago to go ahead with the order.

Am I the only one that thinks the character model fits well if the game even though they don't have feet? I mean, whenever I see a character, it just doesn't bother me.

Anyway, I'm enjoying this game a lot more than I thought. This is probably the best SRPG I have ever played. No lie. It's so addicting and fun to play, plus there's a lot to do. There's a fair amount of challenge as well even if I'm on Normal. I think if I had played this game on Hard, I would've tore my hair out. I'll do a second playthrough after I finished this one (this game is begging for me to).

Currently on Chapter 8 with nearly 7 hours locked in.

I think they fit well, I didn't notice about the feet until it was pointed out.

And yes, I can see myself doing the following:

-Normal run with Male MU

-Hard run with Female MU (the do all the gender options) and SpotPass characters

-Lunatic run with either MU was most effective, Spotpass and DLC characters/skills. By this point I should know which pairings are best and which characters to train.

-If I have the sanity, Lunatic+ with everything I've got to help.

Loving it so far. Abandoning Rescue means I've had to change up some strategies, but the teaming up mechanic is extremely nice, even if I haven't gotten a perfect grasp of it yet. Additionally, the game offers a pretty robust challenge. Good times.

Question on DLC.

Do you guys suggest it or does having like "Marth" in your party through the game kind of screw up continuity or the story in any way? Also does the little adventure or map that you do to get said DLC member kind of explain their story or character somewhat.

It's free, so I'd get it. And not to spoil anything, but the bonus characters (or at least Prince Marth) don't screw up continuity in any way. They wrote a fairly decent way around that.

They're not the real historical characters, they're phantoms that are based on the original characters.

In addition I've noticed that IGN's guide for the game is beginning to take shape. Worth a look to see some things about Marriage, items etc. but be wary of spoilers!

Clearly, the 3DS isn't powerful enough to have that many feet displayed at the same time. This should have been a PSV game. We would get our feet and eat it, too.

So that's how they work around it in the narrative then? Makes sense. After all, it's only a side distraction to prolong the game so I don't think it needs to be intricate.

Indeed, why won't Nintendo support the Vita more? It's just unfair!

A quick update on the review front. RPGfan gave it 92:

Still sitting on 91 after 26 reviews. Don't expect many more to be added until April, or the EU launch.

Why must I wait for you so, Fire Emblem??! I told myself I wouldn't play another Fire Emblem game until I beat the ones for GC and Wii......
