*Note to self, stop staring at Anna's swaying hips*

Note: According to Nowi, Tharja has the boingiest bits (which include her "hips and... other parts") in the entire camp.

See my simple answer to this is that on my third file MU is married to Anna.

I have completed my goal. I have created the strongest Owain ever
Look at these caps

Class: Dread Fighter
STR: 50
MAG: 54
SKL: 50
SPD: 54
LCK: 55
DEF: 49
RES: 57 + 10

Skills: Limit Breaker, Ignis, Lethality, Resistance + 10, Pavise.

Weapons: Missiletainn, Tyrfing, Bolt Axe, Book of Naga,Mjolnir

No self healing?  Could replace Resistance +10 with Lifetaker.

Lethality could be replaced for Armsthrift so you could use those weapons forever.

Tho if your not planning to do the final DLC, than what you have is fine.

I plan on doing the final DLC which is why I am grinding to the ends of the earth. I need Lethality because he pulls an activation skill almost every turn. I wish there was a defense + 10 skill to replace his resistance + 10 skill, because magic attacks do absoloutly nothing to him. Lifetaker has never been worthwhile for me.

I can agree with Pair-Up going bye bye.  It was fun while it lasted but I can't see it being fun in another game.

I'm still on my first playthrough and imo the pair system works great. The main reason why is so great is because by doing that you can marry people and unlock conversions and all that jazz, in a different setting the pair mechanic might not have work like it did in the game.

I used it a lot just to make sure one character married someone I wanted, or to see a funny dialog. If that wasn't the case I might have not used it like I did.

Support between people also raises if they fight adjacent to each other, that's how it worked in previous games. Marriages and children are features that already existed in Fire Emblem 4. The pair up mechanic isn't necessary and it has quite a few game-breaking implications.

On a related note, characters helping out adjacent units is another mechanic that shouldn't be used again. You can't plan reliable blocks anymore, because it might just so happen that that partner kills off an enemy that you want to stay alive to block another enemy from attacking. The result is death by random chance.

The same could be said with crits.  Nothing sucks more than planning out:

Ok three enemies in front of me.

Only my tank can take more than one hit.

But if he takes 3 hits he is dead.

Tho I can't kill them during enemies turn cause his focus on Def rather than attack.

*Positions self so that 2 enemies will attack, third will be blocked by his own army*

*Lands a crit on second enemy, third enemy is now free to kill me*

RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Lol that's true.

The difference is that (depending on the character) crits are a lot less common than adjacent allies attacking enemies, especially if the relation is A or S.

I think that some people here may be underestimating how difficult Awakening can be to the uninitiated.

I'm remember rage quitting a lot when I played Radiant Dawn for the first time (that was my first FF game). So yeah the first game will always be really hard.

So far in Awakening I only had one game over and one force restart (Lucina died on me). I'm playing on normal (which I should have started on hard in all honesty) though since I played FF before is actually quite easy (I have beating Radiant Dawn on hard twice and imo that is one of the hardest in the series).

Btw, without given any major spoilers, what happens if Lucina dies? She died on a Paralogue mission but I restart the game, but later she was during a cutscene on the main story (Chapter 14). It's kinda weird the game let her die without a game over screen...

^I don't think they actually die, they just don't fight anymore, the wimps. :P
It'd be awesome though if they did actually die as it'd be interesting to see the effect it has on the story.

It didn't look like she was leaving the battlefield, she actually died (and her dead quote sounded as such). Could be wrong though, since I was expecting a game over screen and it didn't came out, the mission continued as normal.

Edit: nvm she retreats from the battle. Her "dead" sentence sounded like she was dead, but she just says that she can't fight anymore and "Father forgive me". That's probably why I thought she was dead.

Only Chrom and Avatar get game over.

I'm guessing Lucina doesn't actually die and becomes a character who you can never use again, but still is in cutscene parts.

But most everyone else would be dead for good and won't hear about them till end credits when it says they died.

Just edited that post. For the way she sounded I thought she died, but she only retreats and can't be used again, just like some important characters in previous FF games.
