Sorry for the double post, but just a quick question:

Should I promote Lon'qu to Swordmaster first, so he learns Astra and then Reclass him to Thief -> Assassin path, or should I just go full Assassin straight on?

Astra is pretty lame (five hits that do half the normal damage, unless you are lucky and a critical hit gets added) while an assassin's skill kills instantly. If I planned to get both, I would certainly take the assassin path first.

Lon'qu has a high critical chance naturally and I've got a couple of Killing Edges to spare too. Plus, doesn't Assassin have a higher stat cap than Swordmaster too? That would make it a better ending class no?

Assassin's do have a higher skill cap (4 more than swordmaster) but Lethality has a lower proc chance than Astra.

Astra % = Skill / 2

Lethality % = Skill / 4

Those procs are low, even with Lon'qu high Skill (mine's at 24 at Level 20 Myrmidon). Still, he has the highest Skill stat of anyone on my team, so he'll have to do

Probably those two skills are mutually exclusive, since they basically do the same thing, or can they co-exist?

You can.  I just find having 2 offensive proc abilities are a waste, tho some people don't.  It's a preference I guess.

I think the highest Lethality % I've come across in spotpass was a 3rd Gen Morgan Assassin, with a Skill Asset Avatar as Daddy, with Rightful King from mother Lucina, and Limit Breaker.  That was like a 23/24% chance Lethality........

The question is why would you even need Astra that badly to begin with. If you want to go the swordmaster route, then the level 15 skill that adds +5 attack on swords is the more important one. Astra is more or less just a bonus that comes along with it. Although one thing that isn't too bad about multi-hit skills is that in this game they only take off one use of a weapon instead of one for every attack that hits.

Considering the maximum stats, assassin is indeed the better ending class. But get swordmaster to level 15 before switching classes.

EDIT: If you are above level 10 in a promoted class, you can switch to another promoted class. Starting over as thief is not really necessary, because a few of the stats could already be maxed.

Each Astra strike has the chance to critical hit though. It's worked out pretty well for a lot of my characters, whereas Assassinate's activation is spotty at best.

I love this.

Dread Fighter class is legendary. I don't get why people complain about its so called "crappy sprite" I think it looks sick.

Minus how they holds tombs I can agree to this.

Owain makes a pretty good Dread Fighter (tho mine will always be a Swordmaster with Levin Swords!).

Am I the only person who doesnt like Lon'qu? Or any of the beasts for that matter.

But my Donnel is legendary now. Capped Speed, Skill, 48HP and 130 ranking at Level 12 Mercenary, and with Underdog, he never gets hit. And something like 24 Defence helps...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Also I have just realised this thread is at 2000 posts. Now that is a lot for such a niche game!
