I think it would be better for him to play the gamecube one first(Path of Radiance), because the wii version ( Radiant Dawn) is a direct sequel to path of radiance, so he wouldn't understand the story very well.

I'm currently constructing one, hopefully will have it up tonight or tomorrow night. My apologies, I've just been very busy and this thread has been around for a while.

Very true, I just thought that the GC version may be somewhat harder to find...although it ties in a lot, the story is pretty easy to pick up. 

 

In an ideal world, however, yeah the GC game first.

The Ambassador program has been working on me. Clever Nintendo with their hidden agendas. Making me think they fed me 20 free games just out of charity but in the meantime I begin to like a franchise and then before you know it you want to buy a game from it.

I can't find either one for a reasonable price...

Radiant Dawn is the less pricey, check the pre-owned section if your local Game stores to see if it's there. If not, check eBay or Play.com has it for under £35:

Nah I don't mind this being my first one. I may go back and find copies of the previous installments sometime after though.

Yeah, you probably won't unless there is a used game store in your area that has it in the bargin bin. While I think the GC and Wii games are better in terms of accessiblity and quality, you might have to settle for getting the DS Fire Emblem game Shadow Dragon as that should be easier and more reasonable to locate.
