Love it, I'm getting a stylized and less sterile Top Cow feeling and that's a good thing! The color palette and lines are amazing in my opinion and even the theme seem engaging and exciting!

Thanks! I read a lot of comics (naturally) but I can't really say there's an artist (or three) that I directly pull a style from... it has just kind of evolved over time. Ultimately, I want Variables to look as good as something produced by Marvel/DC/Image, but with its own flavor that separates it.

In another 30 pages, I'm sure my style will be drastically different than it is now. It's a moving target, really. The only thing that seems to stick around through it all is the linework. I've never been into drawing some of the brush-heavy, slightly messy work that is popular nowadays. I love to look at it but the style just doesn't really fit for my own work.

Of course, now that I said that, I'll probably start to think it's fun to draw in a faster, looser style.

Can i ask what program do you use to draw with?, do you use some kind of tablet etc?. Like i said i really want to start working on a comic too. as i have a great idea for a story but i could do with some tips on what programs to use etc.

In the case of the comic, I draw traditionally. This was done on bristol board with india ink, a brush, a quill, and technical pens. I color it in Photoshop using a Wacom Intuos tablet. I letter it in Illustrator.

There are other times when I draw entirely digitally, though. In that case, it's all done in Photoshop with the Intuos tablet.

You guys should check out Sethnintendo's comic too. It's pretty cool. Swapnote only, though.

Hah. Each page of this comic takes me about 20 hours to complete. I don't have much (any) time for anything else.

Looks like it has been getting better with all your hard work.  This is the same one that you've been working on for awhile right?  Is it the detective type one or am I getting confused.  I'm going to check it out later when I have more time.

I've actually taken up making my own "comic" like d21 said.  The art style is a little newbish but I do touch on a lot of controversial topics such as politics, health care, racism, etc..  My drawings are actually stick figures and my main character is Boney V who I invented back in 5th grade when I used to make flipbook comics.

Yeah, this is the same comic. It has jumped to a different story but it's all part of the same world. I'll be returning to the first story in a few weeks to finish it up.

I'll be sure to check out your comic! Where can I find it?
