I'm sure he has access to some preliminary data, whether from NPD or other sources.  I seriously doubt he would use this site.  I'm not sure what to believe, so I'll just leave it open until it is further clarified, though I do hope the >200K is right.  It just seems funny that Pacther woud be spot on in his prediction, and I mean dead on, as I don't think that has happened before.

You are not allowed to just give out exact numbers from NPD anymore since they've stop releasing them to public.

There is a reason that poster said above 200k and below 3DS, as oppose to a concrete number that they obviously have. No way Pachter would make that mistake and risk losing future NPD data.

Man, I'm impressed with the PS3, good shit.

Also, gift cards are NOT price cuts, how are people still thinking this? Sure it's incentive to buy but official price cuts are all across the board and everyone knows about it. Can't assume everyone knows all of the deals that this store or that store are offering via gift cards. An official price cut of the 360 will do more good than gift cards and there HAS to be one incoming, probably an E3 announcement.

Did I mention that I'm impressed with the PS3? That is the biggest news of this NPD, imo.

That doesn't disprove your theory, by the by.

I'm pretty sure Patcher has early access to data of various stores and is basing his "analysis"(predictions) on that - not unsimilar to vgc - so that article hasn't lied imo, they just worded it misleadingly as many would assume the source was NPD, which it likely isn't as the result would be the same as Patcher's predictions (not going to happen ... ever)
