I was once hit by a moped from behind and was thrown in the air like in slow-motion. and i was like "damn this music is good" and then i landed and saw what really happened. the stupid military guy never even tried to avoid hitting me but he got hurt real bad while i did a flip in the air and landed on my side.

the only thing that got hurt was my little finger. and people told me to watch where I'm going. I was like wtf he came from behind me and people walk here not ride mopeds. anywho I put on my headphones and continued on my way to my BF.

the flying part was amazing though and the music helped

First time I got hit by a car was when I was 10. I was cycling, car hit me from the side going 50kph (32mph). I spend a week in the hospital, bike was ruined. It was ruled nobodies fault although it would be the cars fault nowadays. I crossed the street when I saw a car turning right at the crossing, a second car overtook the first car in the intersection and hit me as I was crossing.

Second time I was hit I was 22 and had just bought a backpack for camping. A car coming from behind a tram hit the front wheel of my bicycle which spun me around and I landed on my back. Luckily the empty backpack acted as an airbag. The front wheel and fork of my mountain bike were bent double. The driver then pretended to get his insurance info but opened the trunk and drove off thinking I couldn't see the license plate. I could anyway and reported it to the police but the car turned out to be stolen and out of insurance.

Riding a bicycle on this side of the ocean is a lot more dangerous, plenty of near accidents, luckily none real so far. Most drivers can't judge distance at all. Some drive past way close, I've been hit by passengers sitting with their arms hanging out of the window. Others go all the way into the opposing lane of traffic to pass. I get regularly cut off by cars turning right and get yelled at now and then simply for using the road on a bicycle. Use your mirrors people.
