Except it wasn't even a Christian holiday to begin with. Move it to another date then. But if that makes me and half the world a hypocrite, then so be it.
And you're wrong; I don't want to go anywhere with this, it was you who brought it up, remember?

UGH WHAAAT? You mind telling me what other religion celebrates the resurrection of Christ??? You know, before he even was on this planet...
You're the one that quoted me first dude..
|
He is just saying that the a previous European religion (before Christianity existed) had a holiday on that very date, which the Christians then took in order to successfully eradicate and stomp the previous religion. Same goes for any Christian holiday, and texts from the Bible even suggests that the present dates for Jesus birth and death are inaccurate.

The date may be the same, but the reason for celebration is completely christian and only christian
|
That's the thing, now it is not completely a christian holiday and you just have to accept that.

Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. It has been completely christian from its beginning and its completely christian now. Or let me ask you again... You mind telling me what other religion celebrates the resurrection of Christ??
I mean, on christmas you can atleast make an argument that it was celebrated as a pagan holiday on the exact same date...but Easter...nah...its just plain 100% christian
