Yeah, I think this means downhill for me. I just learned how to farm experience from rare enemies. :/

It won't stay that way.  As you gain a level, the experience you gain from the that enemy drops considerably.    So you may be able to farm up a level or two but then it will lose its effectiveness.

Damn that first miniboss is hard to beat. :/

really?

You men this Metalfaced Mechon?

No, the big caterpillar with few smaller friends. I manage to kill one of the smaller ones before the big one and all the rest attack, then it is done. :D

Unique Monsters like that are often too difficult to beat, even compared to the "bosses" of comparable levels. They're not worth losing sleep over, as it were: if you think you can do it, give it a shot, but if you think it's too hard, leave it. You can always come back and curb-stomp it later (and you'll be going through Tephra Cave several times if you're like me)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Good advice. Most areas you're in for many levels so if you struggle at the start then go back later. You just get less experience.

I did that already. Revenge was sweet. :P

Soon I will get to play some more, but now I am wondering that is it possible to travel to a more difficult location freely or do I have to go where the story tells me?

You have to go to where the story dictates, but mostly its the case that there's enemies with a variety of levels.

So no, it's not free to go wherever.

Good choice, because it really is! Can't wait to see what Monolith are cooking up for the WiiU, if it's even half as good as Xenoblade we'll be in for a treat...

After voting the marsh, Im surprised how many people didn't vote for it. Absolutely love the visuals of that place.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

I think it's because so little happens storywise there...

I think I just defeated my first boss, well.. not me but I guess the river did it. That fight made me wonder if all the boss battles are like that? It was just a glorified QTE. :(
