Like a ghost from the past in a recent interview n-Space was interviewed in which they stated that they would like to revisit the Giest franchise. Now any GameCube in fact most Nintendo fans should remember Giest. A spirit based action thriller first person shooter which began its life in development in 2003 but after years of prolonged development Nintendo finally said "finish the damn game". The game was released for the GameCube and was a flop. I remember purchasing the game the concept intrigued me. Upon getting the game I was impressed by Nintendo's move more mature. The innovative possession features really contributed to create a unique gaming experience. I loved the game and its multi player just the whole horror vibe. It was much like Eternal Darkness which had been a breath of fresh air just around the same time. But their was one major flaw. The game was glitch and horrifically made. You would experience lag and glitches all over. The graphics while interesting werensome times chunky and hurt the games integrity. In the end the lack of polish ruined what could have been an amazing game at least for me. So today the interview with n-Space show s the studio is interested in returning to the franchise. So my question is, does Grist have the potential to be revisited? Could N-space surprise us and do a great job bringing us another Grist game. Or maybe Retro or even Silicon Knights or maybe another Nintendo hired internal or external studio should handle a new installment in the series. Or was Grist fundamentally a bad idea and should be left buried?

Geist!

G E I S T

I LOVE ICELAND!

Sorry Kung between Giest and Grist and Grist and what ever else that showed up it is embarrassing. You'll note I edited the title the second I made the post. I couldn't scroll back to fix errors due to the phone. I see a couple I wish I could edit and fix the errors but cannot. I am surviving with the phone likely for a long time I don't have a working PC.

Yes! I'm sure they could come up with a use of the tablet to do with supernatural shit (jump scares at the least). I do remember having some fun with that game.

Other resurectees (shutup, I can make words) from the GC should include Viewtiful Joe, Eternal Darkness, F-Zero (duh), Timesplitters, Spartan Total Warrior, SW Rogue Leader, Baiten Kaitos, PNO3, Odama and Beyond Good and Evil.

Just had to get that out of the way. GC was a ton of fun. Lots of IPs that need reviving.

I just want another Eternal Darkness.

Spurge I lost my copy. Though if I found it for ten bucks I would buy it in a heart beat just so I could play it again in the future as a reminder that it happened. It was an amazing concept and the plot was great. But n-Space was not the developer that should have made it. The game should have been handled by a team that had already released an First Person Action game, had some experience with horror titles. I can think of a ton of studios today that would be absolutely perfect for a reboot. I simply do not believe n-space is the right developer to create a sequel. I loved playing parts of the game the concept was great jumping from body to body or object to object to throw off enemies and scare the shit out of them.

I could see the game being amazing with online multi player and coop. Single player campaign could be blood curdling. Dark buildings either mansions or other dark scary environments large enough that the four to eight players don't see each other. Tons of NPC's scared shit less things like animals walking around and tons of environmental factors that you could posses.

Walking around a dark building not knowing who your enemy is, what your enemy is or where your enemy is. Other players might have as much fun scaring the shit out of you as killing you.

It could be a massive psychological mind trip. Amazing game idea!

But again you need an excellent AAA studio to make it! A decent budget and experienced horror and FPS staff!

Anyone who never tried it, its a great concept and the game is decent. It just could have been something way better if the right team had made it and/or funding provided!

Never heard of it. What does that tell you? That I am a kid who doesn't know anything.

(Or that they should market the game more.)

Aren't you a teenager NintendoPie? You would have been a kid when this game came out and no parent should allow their child to play a game about possessing things to kill people. Their was some disturbing shit in their really not appropriate for anyone under 17 as the games rating suggests. At earliest I would say 13. But definitely not a kid!
