I really like How to get away with murder. I think its my favourite new show this season. Although I agree that there are too many gay scenes. The last ABC show that I like this much was Revenge but that show dropped in quality significantly in its second season.

I'm okay with LGBT characters and even gay sex scenes, but this show makes it seem like everyone and their fathers are gay. Diversity is okay, but the disproportionalte representation is... interesting.

I didn't get that idea, but it was all a bit convenient and using gay sex as a tool was interesting.
There were still many more straight scenes, 3-4 sex scenes per show was a bit too much. It would be overwhelming when binge watching.

I hope the second season will bring a lot more interesting cases. More court scenes, less pretend sex.

how to get away with murder (season one)

too much gay stuff.

7/10

Well, the show's creator is an incredibly progressive gay man, so diversity will be a large part of the show, including diversity in sexuality and power.

While I didn't care for any of the sex scenes and the premis is way unbelievable, I found the overall show engaging, crazy, and fun. Best ABC show in a while. 8.5/10.

7/10 is a good score :D I like the show want to watch more but its not just the gay stuff...I dont know maybe its me but I just dont get most of the cases they have won sometimes it doesnt make sense..the twists keep it interesting but its still nothing new its fairly predictable. I already know who the killer is at least I like to think so

this is mid season right ? I hope they resolve everything in season 1..to watch season 2 with same main story would probably suck.

I know, its like the producers have a gay agenda of some sort. I mean there's nothing wrong with gay characters but its not realistic that so many people are gay.

Another thing that annoys me is how 3 of the 5 main characters are black. Shonda Rhimes who is the executive producer (makes Greys and Scandal too) always picks black main characters. Its kinda annoying considering its kinda misrepresenting society where only 10% of America is black.

That's trial by jury manipulation for you, I think that's the strongest element of the show. They should spend more time on that though instead of all the drama. Also I miss Boston Legal.

Regarding Greys, it's misrepresentig everything. At least I hope so, cause I don't want to be treated in a hospital like that. Also only 19% of surgeons is female in the US, according to Greys it's more like 70%.

I'm personally okay with many black characters and black leads for the show. I don't see too many quality shows with lead black characters (I think the last ones I saw were That's So Raven and Black-ish), and considering they're usually set as background characters and/or stereotypes, I'm up for the change. I can see it deterring from reality, but there are many other problems with the show's "realism" beyond the character's races.

like when she freed that guy from the death sentence with drama..I would say it takes more than that. my favorite part are little things like that missing neckles from the statue her husband was murdered with..and try to make sense of how all those characters maybe somehow relate to each other. in short it makes me think thats what I like.

^ Yeah that cut that part rather short in favor of the overarching story. It would indeed not be as simple as, Ok you're free to go now.

Paprika 7/10. Visually stunning dream sequences, animation is still the best way to mix reality with the dream world. Good music too, yet the story is a bit lacking. Fun characters anyway.

It gets a bit weird.

Well Scandal also has a black lead and that's the No.1 drama on netwok TV (still way behind The Walking Dead though).

I honestly don't have problems with black characters, and I loved That's so Raven and do enjoy Black ish when I watch it sometimes. I just feel like they are a little bit over-represented on TV like gay people. Other races like Latino people are under represented on American TV which is strange considering there are more Latino people than African Americans in the US.

Okay,  that makes sense. If you are going to go for diversity,  might as well go all out and give everyobe a fair rep.
