I love dark souls, maybe because I'm a demon king with fire wings on my shoulders.

I actually liked the gameplay of Dark Souls more, but I enjoyed the freedom of Skyrim more... The difference in dificulty is also a huge plus for Dark Souls, Skyrim often felt like pushing the win button... and if you missed pushing it again... so Skyrim plays like: "If you mess up you won't win" while Dark Souls plays like: "If you mess up you are fucked, if you don't do the right stuff you won't win"

That's exactly why I felt the gameplay of Dark Souls >>> Skyrim. I want to feel like if I messed up, I truly messed up and am not worthy of continuing on with the game..until you prove that you are by dominating the level!

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.

I like Dark Souls but I am done after one play through. It's just not as great as Demon Souls.

I guess the feeling, the atmosphere, the fear in Demon's Souls is unique... Dark Souls didn't come close to that.

Hmm, I'm still in the beginning I suppose; although the graphics suck compared to PC Skyrim/BF3 lol, IMO the atmosphere and feeling is still there. Was Dark Souls (assuming you finished it) easier? Worse boss fights? or?

I like to get Platinum in my games... so I did with Demon's Souls (4x NG+).

Dark Souls I just finished and liked but yes it is easier and have worse bosses... Demon's Souls dark history is better too IMO... the gameplay, graphics and the size of the game/worlds is better in Dark Souls.

I'm not willing to get Platinum in Dark Souls (maybe in future) .

Edit - Dark Souls is for crybaby compared to Demon's Souls.

Dark Souls

darksouls is boring, the only fun parts were boss fights and the combat was OK- total time till boredom was 10 hours, but people who cared got about 60 hours (threshold of good to bad purchase is 60 hours)

skyrim is fun and a huge open world and actually had a story and world worth caring about
skyrim easily lasted 150hours, making it 3 times a better value then dark souls
easily skyrim.

I massively prefer the Souls games, so much more interesting in every aspect. The open world exploration of Skyrim is a nice timekiller, but that's about it.

I liked Dark Souls a lot more than Skyrim. There is a reason why I played Dark Souls for over 100 hours, and Skyrim for not even half that time.

It was the atmosphere and challenge that made me love Dark Souls over Skyrim. Skyrim is definitely a great game, but I personally loved and played Dark Souls alot more.

I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!

sorry I think the Souls games are only mediocre to good, but nowhere near great.
Skyrim on the other hand is Game of the Gen material.

Skyrim is game of the gen material due to its lore, size, and options of gameplay style. But what about the actual substance of the game? Did you have fun actually grinding through dungeons? Were dragon fights fun after realizing that they're the same as any other enemy, just larger and could fly away?

Tons of fun.

My two best game series hands down.

For me nothing beats an Elder Scrolls game but Dark Souls is a fantastic brilliant amazing game that can't be praised enough and I am so thankful that such good games are being made. It's hard to rank between Skyrim and Dark Souls because they're so different and they both fulfill me in their own unique way.

When I played Demons Souls sometime last year I really didn't enjoy it. However, when Skyrim came out I fell in love with it and a non-rpg fan became a hugh fan and I'm looking to play more rpg's. Maybe I'll give Dark Souls a try now that I have a slight clue on how to play these type of games. Lol. At this moment, I will have to give the edge to Skyrim.
