You forgot to put this on top of the list

Enough said. Western developers have just advanced more this generation since they sucked so hard in the last few.

And Binary Domain, really?

Yes, really!

As much as I love these games, they weren't high selling. Really, the highest selling games of this generation were Japanese games and last I checked it wasn't the Japanese companies which were going bankrupt. Japanese developers just have to not get sucked into the trap of trying to make the next COD (like Capcom attempted and failed to do) or they will be on the same path.

LMFAO!!! Only Bayonetta and Dark Souls are relevant from that list. Catherine is borderline.

The other two (I already forget their names) are just....well...what are they?

I don't know why people have an issue with this list, Binary Domain shows the Japs can make a Western-style tps game (with their own unique flair) on par with western developers, Bayonetta shows they still own the hack and slash genre, Dark Souls is simply a masterpiece.

I can't comment on the other two, I haven't played them.

this

Also, Nintendo.

They are all creative and some of them had good sales. But I would pick different games to make a list if were to do such a thing.

Ask me about being an elitist jerk

Time for hype

With those 5 games, I can safely say that Japanese dev's (besides Nintendo) are doomed. Give the concept of Binary Domain to a good western studio and it sells one million in two weeks.
