Forums - Nintendo - Kojima: Wii U requires unique software

Tagged games:

Kojima just states the obvious: multiplats will obviously use Wii U unique features optionally, only exclusives will be able to integrate them deeper in the games, as this could hamper portability. Unless MS and Sony devise a way to offer a functional equivalent using their input devices.
Finally one serious suggestion for Ninty: Wii U could be used for the best bike racing sim ever, the tablet's screen could display the dashboard and be used like a handlebar to control the bike, furtherly improving the good realism that a classic console controller with motion control can already offer to such games.
Another good use could be for turret control in tank and mech combat games.

a couple things:

kojima speaks japanese, which means that this interview is translated. this must be kept in mind when trying to understand what kojima is trying to say, since translations aren't perfect at conveying meaning.

kojima didn't really say that he wasn't going to release games for Wii U, more that he wouldn't just port a game to the system for the sake of porting it. he said that he'd actually take time to use the system to it's advantage, which sounds good to me.

kojima's a great developer, and i'm sure he'll end up releasing something good for the Wii U!

lol
