haha, yeah, hope is the wrong word. Those are the things I find necessary for Vita's survival. It must hurt 3DS owners like the 3DS hurt their (vita's) owners - MH gave nightmares to a lot of Vita's fans, some of them never recovered.

(ps. If I say I hope for a port of Castlevania Lords of Shadows to come for Vita would you forgive me?)

Lords of Shadow isn't really accepted as a Castlevania title, plus it would be a port. So yes, that's forgivable.

Speaking of which, it's been four years since Order of Ecclesia. Koji... I'm struggling here. I even bought that Gameloft ripoff-game Soul of Darkness just to get a small (and admittedly bland) taste... but I need more! MORE!

I need my Iga-vania.

I thought so! With some useless extra content, like a gallery or extra costumes to make it even more cruel when 3DS Metroidvania arrives.

But what game would hurt you more if it becomes Vita exclusive? To me is either Castlevania or professor Layton.

Metroidvania (or Castleroid) is pretty much at the top of the list.

Professor Layton is not going to happen, because Level 5 won't want to lose out on their publishing deal with Nintendo in the Western markets. Etrian Odyssey is not going to happen, because the PSV isn't equipped to properly run it. Sonic is undesirable for Sony, so it's not going to happen either.

A new Resident Evil being exclusive to the Vita would hurt, albeit not as much as Castlevania, because the 3DS already got Revelations.

But honestly, there isn't all that much that the DS/3DS had exclusively that could be lost to Sony.

Ah, i don't care for Resident Evil, it was never a DS/3DS series anyway. It was always a bonus (a nice bonus) for 3DS owners and that's it, no big deal if it jumps ships (and it will, I think)

I think Final Fantasy Remakes would hurt a lot too. I mean, Final Fantasy V or... gasp... VI in 3D for Vita would be painful for any Nintendist!

As someone who's not a Vita owner, I'm curious to hear what you reasonably expect to hear come E3 regarding upcoming releases.

uhhhh games, what do you expect?

The announcement of games, perhaps? I don't understand.

....which ones? From whom? That type of stuff.

Oh, gotcha. No matter how many times I read it I still interpret it in the same way, like you're suggesting that barely any games will be announced at E3.

Anyway, I'm not a Vita owner either, I expect to buy one by the end of the year though. As for games, I'm not sure really. Rol mentioned my first choices, Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy, but those games tend to have long production cycles and they already have HD remakes in the works. I'm not looking for any games or genres in specific for the Vita, I just hope to see some unique games that look interesting.

Gotcha. In hindsight, I can see that. I merely meant it to explain that I haven't kept up with the system as much as others.

3D graphics aren't going to make these games notably better, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal. They are old games that have already been re-released quite a few times, after all.

Yeah, but they remind me of SNES, and you just don't remake SNES exclusives of my childhood to some other company other than Nintendo.. But who I'm kidding, I too don't care for final fantasy V - except for it's sales, but the one that gets V gets VI, and that becomes personal.

How hard can it be to name a few franchises or alternatively that this or that developer will make a new IP for the PSV?

And really, I have been here for five years and the general consensus among Sony fans after every E3 is: "Quite boring, needed more surprises." Why? Because almost everything of major interest gets leaked weeks in advance.

for a Sony platform....VERY HARD, apart from the stuff that gets leaked and flat out announced when was the last time you think you knew what Sony would announce at E3???

and that may be true for this site but as far as the rest of the internet goes Sony hasn't disappointed since 07 with the only real disappointment being 06

Ever since 2008 has it been very predictable for Sony. Sequels, sequels, sequels.

So what I expect from Sony in terms of PSV announcements are spinoffs/sidestories of their established IPs (like God of War, LittleBigPlanet, inFAMOUS) with new IPs being relegated to download-only releases. From third parties I don't expect much at all, mostly just gameplay and videos of already announced games like Call of Duty and Bioshock. Given that the Vita launched to disappointing numbers, I expect most third parties to take a wait-and-see approach at this year's E3.

lol sequels I bet you had no idea were coming

I expect games nothing more nothing less and as for disappointing launch numbers, the ps3 was so bad most big name developers openly spewd hate towards the console and it was a complete nightmare to develop for....and look how that turned out

Third place, less goodwill, and billions in losses? *trollface*

Hahahahahaha! This thread got turned into every other VS or sales thread out there. XD So predictable, I've got no room to talk though, I can be just as bad...

Sony is predictable. If something sold somewhat decently, it will get a sequel on the same system. It's not hard to notice this pattern, especially since it was well established by the end of the PS2 era.

The PS3 had a back-up plan for third parties: the Xbox 360. The Vita doesn't have that luxury.

and for you first point do you have any idea how broad that is, how massive that list is...

hmm I was thinking about over 60 million units, tons of 3rd party suport, and more big exclusives per year than thier competitors combined......
