After a quick look on my Wii, it looks like the Mii Channel (which is higher than Wii Sports for submissions) has more users in the Nintendo Channel than the Canadian Mii Channel. US is far more than both, but there is definitely a good relationship between Mii Channel and overall users. Check out the history -

Should be around 39.3m US Wiis through end of March - meaning roughly 6m in Canada and Latin America. My guess is it's roughly 39.3m / 2.8m Canada / 2m Mexico / 1m rest of Americas but hard to say for sure...

Hard to tell how the market breaks in Latin America. Mexico is the biggest market so far but Nintendo predicts Brazil will surpass it in a few years, as the population is twice as a big. I don't think all other Latin American countries combined would top any of those two countries.

Here are some PAL stats... we don't collect all PAL regions anymore as it's way too much effort, but I have done a full data set in week 12 of 2009 (so it's missing 1 weeks worth to be true to Q1 2009, but near enough) and then over 2 years later in week 15 of 2011 (so the 2.6 mil figure has a couple of extra weeks)

The PAL regions included are: UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, BeNeLux, Spain, Italy, Scandanavia, Greece, Portugal, Australia & New Zealand.

As you can see by the lower figure PAL regions are less likely to be online (the nearest recent comparison with The Source's figures is Q1 2011 for PAL, which is 3 months after the 5,193,000 for Dec 2010 Americas) True the Wii userbase is higher in the Americas, but not by the same ratio as Nintendo Channel users.

Of course it's also possible that PAL users simply don't have as much reason to use the Nintendo Channel, (the figures in this thread do not represent the actual number of online Wii users, merely the number who share their data with Nintendo on the Nintendo Channel) but it's a free channel, and simply checking into it once makes you count as a user.

 And given the fact that nintendo channel was not even available for most of our countries (The eshop is not available in Costa Rica yet) it will be very very difficult to even make have a rough picture of any other markets.

Do you set your Wii to Mexico then? (And I presume 3DS lets you change country too) Or does one of your nearer neighbors have it available.

Brazil has a populaiton of almost 200 million with a middle class that just keeps growing with no sign of stopping in the near future. Classic Nintendo would have such a bright future in Brazil but, they decided to go the Gamecube way again...

 Yes, I did have it set up for mexico and it was fine at the beginning, after some transactions though (lost wind I guess) my card was rejected twice, $20 each, I called my bank and they asked me to talk to nintendo because the transaction was put on hold... I sent an email to nintendo and they just said contact your bank... 15 days later I got my money back, not a big deal but I dunno about making it again.

 The thing here is that nintendo doesnt allow me to pay with any card (debit, credit or even prepaids) if I leave the wii set up to Costa Rica (where I live and from where all my cards were issued), they only allow their point cards, which by the way are very rare to find and if you find any the prices are laughable... The 3ds is even worse as the eshop is not even available at all, I have all the free goodies (I am ambassador after all :9) cause I change my settings from time to time to check videos, trailers and stuff, but I havent bothered to try buying anything yet, and I am probably not going to do it until the eshop is available here.

In France the Mii Channel had 444556 users after Q4 2010, 538713 users after Q4 2011, and a bit more than 550k now. So Latin America topped France as well in these numbers.
