Ok so their games will be still complete, and the DLC will be really a plus, not like Ubisoft games.

Seems legit.

The thing is, I don't mind DLC, as long as it's not on disc, presented months after release, and is not expensive.

Putting DLC is the disc is a flat out scam.

Months after release adds reply value, don't give me something a couple weeks after the game releases, because then I feel like I have to rush through a game and play the DLC, not to mention I just spent $60.00 bucks on a FULL game.

If you make DLC ,then it has to be a good price, don't make it so my Wife yells at me when she sees the bill at the end of the month, and the DLC only lasted 1-2 hours.

If it is as Nintendo says, I would enjoy DLC if it's months after release and is a good amount of content. For instance, instead of waiting every three years or so for a new Zelda, they could add a pseudo-expansion six months down the line which adds a few more dungeons, or weapons, and some lore leading into the next game. Something like that and I won't hesitate to purchase.

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward = best game ever made.

I would love to have some DLC for Mario Kart/F-Zero/Super Smash Bros etc, but only as add-ons when you get tired of playing the same old maps over and over.

So, this is a comforting stance.

One wonders if there isn't any consumer protection laws that would allow you to sue against on-the-disc DLC. There has to be some precedent, similar to the precedent that allows for users to make legal backup copies of their software, likely they have a right to everything that is physically on the disc that they paid for.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

It's an image.

I think certain games lend themselfs better to DLC, i would love to see it in games like mario kart and super smash bros. Even then i think you should have to unlock the DLC once purchased, just as you would any other in game content.

But i personally wouldn't like to see Zelda DLC. Once you've completed the story, i think that should be it.

I like their answers.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Nintendo is right.

DLC should be extra bonus stuff for a game to lengthen its re-playability as well as bring in continued revenue for a minimal up front cost to devs.

It should not be a way to maximize the profits of the original game like what has happened in past and most recently in Mass Effect 3.

It should be cheap and completely new content like side missions or new maps for multiplayer, etc. Even many FPS way of adding more special uniforms guns and other micro transactions is fine too. All that enhances the game and does not detract from the original complete work.
