Forums - Gaming - I think it's safe to say the PS3 is the definitive graphics king for this gen

Heavy Rain, God of War 3, and Uncharted 3 are all 720p...hard to call that a graphical king.

I think Forza Motorsport 4 is the best looking game this gen, with Uncharted 3 as #2, and Gears 3 a close #3. I think graphics is really dependant on the game this gen as only late PS3 exclusives are starting to look better then 360 exclusives and multiplatform title. Even then, Forza 4 is still King.

If you're going to post Forza 4 shots, please don't use a publicity shot used in pre-release articles, especially one that is in photomode. It's the same reason all my shots are from forums users, and the same reason I don't post photomode screenshots from Gran Turismo 5. 

 

Forza also runs at 720p, according to the article I just looked up. However, that's besides the point.

In the Gears 3/Uncharted 3 pictures, Gears of War 3 looks better if you ask me. However playing them I think Uncharted 3 looks better, but only slightly (mainly because of vegitation affects).

In the end, is either console graphics king? They both are damn close and if the difference makes a difference to you, you need to grow up. On PC those difference could easily be contributed to configuring individual game settings differently, it's minor.

You might want to go back a few pages and tell some of the others not to either.

I don't know the source of the pictures in the first post of the thread, and that FFXIII shot is obviously CG. Where else do you see a publicity shot?

But Autovista is still a part of the game, and Forza 4 looks best, by far, in it.

Below is Forza Motorsport 3, in game, which still looks much much better then Uncharted and Gears could hope to be

Did you see.. oh I don't know, like 90% of the media/critics outlets and their "best of 2011 graphics" awards?

I might mention that Gears of War 3 wasn't even nominated in majority/ANY of these. IF YOU WANT to disregard this: Thats fine. But don't you even try to tell me to "grow up" due to this. Several sites claim that "X" game is the best looking game on the 360, but have explicitly said (eg. Gamereactor) that "PS3 has 4 better looking games" -> UC3/UC2/KZ3/GoW3. First mentioned being globally recognized as the current best graphics on consoles.

If there is a difference, it's minor, and Forza 4 tops them all. so does Forza 3 and GT5.

Again, the differences between then hailmark 720p games is so small that if you ran them on PC, you probably wouldn't notice the difference in configuration to run them at PS3 level and 360 level.

That and anything in 1080p on PC trumps this, even Mass Effect 1 at high spec and that's a 2007 game...

..

Heck Crysis 2, a multiplatform game, almost won Best Graphics 2011, and that looks noticably better, in sub 720p, on 360...grow up, the differences are minor.
