NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

“In addition, regarding “Fire Emblem Kakusei” (Japanese title), which was released last week in Japan, its initial sales figure reached the record-high in the series since the GameBoy Advance and we have received a lot of messages from the Club Nintendo members that they bought a game from the series after a long interval. Although we have not decided on a plan to release it overseas, we hope to further increase its sales.”

Wasn't it already confirmed for Europe? :P Anyhow, if it won't be released in NA, I'll be pretty unhappy.

I would love a new Zack & Wiki!

How many uses could they find to the tablet controller? Or the combo tablet + wiimote?

Same here.  The first one wasn't perfect, but it was a great idea that deserves to be expanded on.  Could turn into a really great series.

I support this 100%!

The first game needed motion-plus support to truly work as it was intended, plus whoever decided to have you instantly die and restart the whole puzzle after EVERY mistake should be punched in the face, but there is just SO much to love about that game!

They could use the tablet as a treasure map you have to fill out on your own as you go along, and I'm sure there could be many other clever uses, like a telescope where you'd point it off-screen in order to catch different views, etc. When I start to think about all the different possibilities it really does sound quite yummy! Also, hopefully going the downloadable rout with the series will help it be more sustainable.

I love the artstyle but wouldn't mind if some of the characters had a bit more personality for the next game.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

Don't worry people! Digital will not be the same price as retail!

Nintendo has once again confirmed that they WILL NOT sell incomplete games to make up money on digital. Thank god!

Also, Animal Crossing might have paid DLC.

Man, I'm going bankrupt with this one!

Could this mean the return of the best collectibles ever in videogame history?

The language is not a major issue, whatever characters are saying during missions is highly unimportant. The menus are a bit complicated but only becuase the game has so many different options. You can equip different weapons, develop them on separate paths on a skill tree, and play each mission as two different characters. But even then it shouldn't take too long to figure out the basics of the game. Worse comes to worst I'm sure there is a translation of the entire menu online.

The menus seem a bit daunting; but stop trying to be so convincing... I don't want to import another game.

yeah, I hear you

The game is somewhat prohibitively expensive currently. I'm hoping Nintendo man up with Wii U and sell more games online from previous gens that were never released originally in those regions.

Kinda like they did with Sin & Punishment only across the board. With a game like this they could really just put minimal effort into localization - translate the menus, and subtitles for the rest of the game would be fine.

Plus, if they can get Zangeki running at a smooth 60 fps on Wii U I'd even consider buying it again!

I believe that seals the deal!  NA version should be a given!

a few more choice quotes:

- “3ds standard title globally include mario kart etc, but also monster hunter, fire emblem, kid icarus, plus pokemon titles on ds will help”
- Mario Kart is a core title for the 3DS globally, but so are Monster Hunter and Fire Emblem according to Satoru Iwata

-Retailers will sell titles digitally, so there won’t be a big pricing different in packaged/digital releases

- Downloading retail games digitally will be available for Wii U’s launch
- Digital packaged release prices will be set by retailers and not Nintendo

Also, this:
"- Regarding concerns that downloading games will take too long, consumers can purchase these titles directly or download them late at night"

sounds like he is perhaps hinting at some kind of downloading system for Wii U, when the console is in standby mode..

It's not that expensive (~55 EUR, saw FF4 and that was even higher), but I also prefer a Wii U version somewhere down the line. When GC games are sold digitally, the Hanubi Festivals cant be that far off (and hopefully they put some Wii JPN exclusives there too).
