I think this generation EA is making a mistake in not giving serious support to Wii U and 3DS.
EA keeps having bad fiscal years one after the other and with the expected rise in development costs for PS4 and XB3, i doubt the next few years will be good to them and that can`t be a good thing for EA.

I think EA vs Nintendo goes back to the Genesis vs SNES days. They were, by far, Sega's biggest third party developer and produced not even 10% of those games for the SNES - not even Madden in the early days.

Sports games are probably contractually obligated to appear on every system available with sales higher than an x number. That's why I think Wii and 3DS still have them. But no 3DS Madden  this year... probably because last year was a bomb, most likely

Well, I can't remember the last time EA profitted. So karma and whatnot.

I dont know, but im starting to believe they really dont want us to buy their products

Anybody else notice that the Wii U launches on the Gamecube's birthday (in North America)? I don't think I've seen that mentioned anywhere.

Wii U Deluxe totally paid off, now. I'm going to go ahead and get a Pro-Controller, a Wii Remote Plus, and a few games next Friday. I think I'll grab a game a week until launch. That way, I can be behind on my Wii U games from day one!

Must Haves: NSMB U, Call of Duty BlOps 2 (Wii Remote functionality FTW!), Batman Armored, and Rayman. There will be more but that's all I need right now.

Seriously, where do you take the time to play so many games?! It's unbelievable.

And no, I didn't notice both consoles shared the launch day in NA. Let's hope this means that WiiU will have many, many great games. But not the same sales.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

It appears that a Nintendo Direct is coming. (Found on NeoGAF):

" Nintendo of America Nintendo Direct broadcast incoming tonight. Stay tuned for news. "

EA hated Nintendo for their draconion control over the NES. EA managed to get Sega to actually strike a bargain.

YEah, I imagine it'll cost some on the second hand market =/ I just think that a game like that should be enjoyed on the original console :D

Yeah, I get the same feeling: it's the "old school" Zelda enthusiasts that's got all these opinions about where to take the series, and no wonder really; they've seen the series transform from 2D to 3D, to WW, TP and SS - we've seen it all =) But I think Link's Awakening is usually mentioned, for the Game Boy, as one of the best entries in the series?

If i had a SNES i would try playing on it aswell.
People are "always" going to base their comments on what they like to get something that they want, while saying it`s for the best for the series! ;)
SS was one of the most innovative Zeldas in years yet people complain that Zelda is becoming stale.

Honestly, i don`t remember comments about handheld Zeldas being considered the best but if there are, it`s only from a few people.

In truth, the Zelda universe seems to borrow a lot from those 3 Zeldas, in terms os items, quests, characters. MM seems to be the one that changes the overall gameplay mechanics the most, as SS.

Yes, I think these three Zelda games has set the standards for the series as a whole. And I agree that SS was really really new and fresh! I loved how the overwolds (not the sky, mind you - but the forest, desert and lava worlds) had challanges in them and puzzles to be solved! I'd love to see some sort of combination between SS and the original Zelda and aLttP - with a modern take on OoT's art style!!

I hope that someday Nintendo does a move like MM and changes settings, characters to freshen things up again.
Depending on what Nintendo is preparing OoT`s art style may fit or not. IF the game is like the first Zeldas i don`t know if it will be a good match or if people will notice because the view is basically 2D seen from above whereas OoT art style fits more into a 3D world. But we will see.

Honestly i wouldn`t mind having a game where you had to collect the triforce again and base the game around that, like in the first Zelda. Add a bit of exploration and adventure and make us search for the answers or for the places and how to enter those places.

Oh, I didn't mean to apply that I wanted a top-down view in a future Zelda, like that found in LoZ; I meant to say that I want a game similar in how LoZ was - not how it looked. I wanna get dropped right in the adventure, not quite sure where to go, trying to find the dungeons in the right order. I meant exactly the same thing you said in the second part of your post =)

You can always get it for Wii. Getting the original for SNES might be a bit hard to get or pricey. Check ebay.
Most people here, or at least those who are vocal about it, seem to have been raised with NES, SNES or N64. That`s why the biggest Zeldas or always the same three: Zelda 1, ALTTP and N64.
It`s rare someone mentioning the handheld games.

Link's Awakening is mentioned by most older Zelda fans. Rightfully so, the game is utter genious in every aspect. It is unbelievable the game was even possible on the GameBoy as it gives it's 'big' brother on the SNES a serious run for it's money. I feel it even surpasses it easily. It's still underrated though, as far as I'm concerned, but I think the 3DS port of the game did it some good at least.

Personally, I think Link's Awakening is the second best Zelda game after Ocarina of Time. It also ranks high in my personal top 10 video games in general.

it is true though, most Zelda fans mention LoZ, ALttP and OoT as the defining games, even when LA has a lot of 'series-firsts'. Younger fans usually mention Twilight Princess instead of the 2D games. Ah, well, not their fault, they just weren't around back then!

Oh I didn't know that =D I'll be sure to get it when I get my hands on a 3DS :D

Yeah, I understand why younglings prefer OoT and TP; great games indeed! I just miss the whole exploration of LoZ.... The world was so BIG back then... Please Nintendo, just implement some of the 2D Zelda elements in the next 3D Zelda!!
