So, 4.5m in 12 months confirmed and also confirmed that we are overtracking it a lot. Software quite overtracked too... (we have it at almost 12m...)


Personally I just find one thing strange. It hasn't been twelve months yet.

and are they talking sell through or shipped?  (I know Ninty tend to talk sold through on things like this)

Today (03/06/12). The sources are NPD and Nintendo of America... so sold through I guess.

That is indeed quite strange...maybe they count March 2011 as one month, didn't March NPD show 3DS numbers?


Hmm maybe they do, in which case that is strange on Nintendo's part. However 4.5 is still a great number, and this site needs to realistically put all numbers a little bit down, across the board.

I think this is to Feburary, so it's eleven months. They probably feel that it's enough time to show how great the system is doing and the NPD March data will take some time to process.

I hope it can continue momentum in the west. But it does seem to be lacking some. Plus Japan seems to get 2-3 new games, usually big a week!

Well a new 3DS Brain Age game was confirmed to be in development a short while ago. I guess it's coming this year. And so is Animal Crossing, one of the biggest casual games on DS.

The first 3DS NPD is March 11... so twelve months with Feb 12.
