Forums - Nintendo - 3DS newcomer here! A couple of doubts...

and also, Uprising looks very promising. Instead of buying a lot of games at once, make sure you beat Re: rev, MK7(with 3 stars) and SM3Dland with 100%. After the first 8 worlds, the next 8 get tougher, so don't get too cocky with it being too easy :P I reccommend you beat the games first so you don't become too addicted to purchasing games. Other than the games you need(like Uprising), Mario Tennis is definitely up there for one of the best looking games. It's also the first Mario Tennis to have co-op online and matchmaking matches :D Go look it up on the e-shop for videos of Mario Tennis, Uprising and more!

The battery life doesn't bother me one bit. I don't need the extra light, so I turn the brightness down to at least 1 or 2, and it saves me like a couple of hours, which is great. There are also a lot of battery add-ons, supporting the 3DS with a 10+ battery life. Those should cost around $20-30.
my FC is 4038-5998-0369. Hope to see you online!

Yeah, I'm planning to get Uprising but I will wait the reviews and maybe a price cut. Do you know if Mario Tennis Open will have a story mode like it's predeccesor on handhelds? If it has it, I will buy it Day 1

From the eShop I recommend: Mighty Switch Force, Mutant Mudds, Sakura Samurai, Dillon Rolling Western, Pushmo and swapnote.

At retail I recomend you get: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Shadow Wars, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3d (but no at full price), Nano Assault, Shinobi 3DS, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D, Resident Evil the mercenaries 3D (for online play), Tales of the Abyss 3D, Cave Story 3D, Dead or Alive Dimensions and Super Street Fighter IV 3D.

I just wanted to talk about the cradle for a sec.  I understand it is for charging but I really don't see the damn point in it.  I have never used it and I usually just charge while I play.  Maybe someday I might use the cradle.

I really like the cradle. It's ideal if you make multiple short gaming sessions (Playing during TV adverts for instance.) After every session you can put the 3DS in the cradle, so it can reload. Also it feels "tidier" to use the cradle.

Yet you probably leave the charger plugged into the wall since it is hooked up to the cradle for convenience thus wasting electricity.    I'm not trying to argue just throwing out a possible negative.  However, you could upgrade to those green multi outlet adapters that you can program to turn off during certain times or one flip of a switch that turns off all electronic equipment.  I don't have much room to speak about not wasting electricity...

The 'vampire' load draw from the charge cradle while not charging the 3DS is neglible (a 100mW at worst).  Notice it's not the full size wall brick most battery chargers are.  Feel it.  Vampire drain is released as heat since there is no load to power.   Since  it is no warmer than room temperature (assuming you don't live in Siberia), you know its vampire draw is minimal.

You'd draw more unwanted load just by turning on your TV or stereo (overload draw) than you would from having yoru charge cradle plugged (with no 3DS in it) for months.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Put the device in the cradle when you're not using it, this is pretty standard with all Lithium Ion battery devices, you need to charge them when they're not in use. Like other lithium ion devices, the charge has a declining rate of charging effectiveness, the device charges much faster if it is empty as opposed to 80% full. Some eShop titles play for 8-10 hours on a full charge. It's typically the more graphical intensive retail games that drain the battery faster.

Mario Land 3D increases in difficulty every world, there are 16 instead of the standard 8.
Mario Kart 7 is the best local multiplayer game available on any handheld system.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Ah dang it!  That isn't the response I wanted.  I was waiting for a Greenpeace response to show that Nintendo was still bad for the environment.

So, I tried to leave all night my 3DS with Wireless and full battery. Turns out it didn't waste much of battery so the problem I mentioned above was probably because I had very little battery at that time.
Anyway, I'm relieved because I tend to forget to charge my handhelds overnight :P

Also feel free to add me on friend list
