We aren't even sure these people existed, let alone then being the son of God (and God aswell...) or knowing of the word of God. Muhammed I don't now much about, but Jesus? I doubt he even existed, possibly based on someone of the time if anything.

A statement like that would apply better to a historical figure like King Arthur

Id say we are pretty sure these people existed, about as sure as we know Julius Ceasar existed.

and as many stated already, we probably have more records of Jesus and Mohamed than say King Arthur and other historical figures.

It just blows my mind how uneducated some are ... to the point where some foolishly deny so many different sources. There are cross records. Christians knew of Mohamed as muslims knew of Jesus.

There actually is evidence that Jesus existed from somebody who did not even believe in him at the time. Ever hear of Josephus? He wrote about Jesus and who he was, and said that he didn't believe in the things he said. The point of this is that Josephus at least wrote about the existance of Jesus.

I think he was using that particular example because King Arthur quite possibly didn't exist, there's not much evidence at all for him.

But based on what I've read I would say that Mohammed certainly existed and Jesus almost certainly did too.

One of the threads that hasn't been locked while discussing a topic like this. Nice job?

Neither, because both are fictional

Now this is something that no matter what religious beliefs you hold, you have to recognize that the historical figures existed. Because it's an undeniable fact that they did.

Either one seems fine. I personally believe Jesus was not the son of God. As far as I know, he never really directly said "So I'm like the son of God and shit" but that's just me.

You know, according to the book he was executed for not denying it :P (and in the John version he even admitted it)

If by the book you mean the bible, then THAT TO ME isn't a reliable source. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE that The bible that we know is not the real or original one. I can't say for certain where it is kept or if it even exists anymore.  I'm pretty goddamn sure the bible is having manipulated time and time again. If people want to get their life lessons and values from it, fine by me.

If you're talking about another book, then I got nothing. Besides, he was probably gonna get executed no matter what he did. People back then were a bunch of fanatic nut jobs. Can't blame them though.

Of course the Bible isn't the exact same as what it "used" to be. Words get mixed up and stuff but its not like it teaches something totally different then what it used to have when it was first illustrated.

See, I believe it does exactly that. The people depicted are most likely real but the whole story...it just doesn't click to me. Sounds like a bad Disney movie. There have to be lots of things that went "missing" and not just simple words getting mixed.
