Forums - Gaming - Fox Engine Lightning Demo: Reality vs Graphics

Today, the Kojima Productions GDC recruitment page has been updated with a sample of the lighting the Fox Engine is able to pull off. To demonstrate, three photos of the Kojima Productions meeting room were posted, and recreated using the Fox Engine. The page challenges you to find out which one is real and which one computer graphics.

If you click on the screen, the answer to the question is revealed, as well as some additional screenshots:

As the text says, these are to demonstrate that dynamic movable objects will blend in with the environment as well.

quite impressive, though I'd have prefered some bigger screens

Such small screens are a bit tricky...
Still, viewing the comparisson side by side show the impressive lightning effects. The frames helped me to notice which one was computer graphics

OMFG, the andalusian!
Well I noticed because of the folding of the fabric on the chair's corner and because the images on the right are a bit pixelated. I can deduce from this that project Ogre and the next MGS are going to be AMAZING.

They could have rendered more than one light source for the chairs shadows. It is a lightning demo after all.

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

lightning or lighting?

Either way, things look great.

impressive demo, tho it is easy to see that the right hand pics are fake even with the low res image
