Im saying 5 people cant make a big retail blockbuster.

To leave Lionhead with the salaries they get paid to form their own studio with the manpower to make mere XBLA games with 2 year dev cycles.....

Seems like your trading down, and is kinda stupid if you have families to support. 



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Seems like your trading down, and is kinda stupid if you have families to support. 

but you know you can get money from inverstors right? i don't know a  lot of people who opende a company only with their moeny on the bank account and if you are a well known guy in the industry you won't have huge problems to find investors to open a company with, let's say at least a staff for one "real" game. maybe they will get money from another big player to make a game THEY want and not what molyneux wants.

Still only gonna be a downloadable title. And even then you need marketing to get the word out. Just saying they better have a plan. Probably make a great game they have planned and hope they get bought up by a big company when the reviews are good.

ok it's not possible to find a new publisher (ea partner program for example) who will pay for advertisement then if you have a good idea for a game and open a studio with 40 members or even more? i think respawn for example did that and i think they make a full retail game (but not sure about that)

i'm not saying it will happen but it's possible if they want.

Tell that to the people that left LionHead to make media molecule, seems they make million selling box product blockbusters. You do realise 5 left but they are allowed to employ others.

Media Molecule started off with just (6) people and they worked in a studio above a toilet store. They built a game that was eventually picked up and funded by Sony and that game went on to sell 4.8M copies. I also hear they were only at maybe 20 or so employees by the time the game was released.

They also originally left Lionhead.

People don't want to acknowledge that, though.  They still want to blame theoretical MS interference for Rare not having the prestige it enjoyed in the 90's.
