Media Molecule started off with just (6) people and they worked in a studio above a toilet store. They built a game that was eventually picked up and funded by Sony and that game went on to sell 4.8M copies. I also hear they were only at maybe 20 or so employees by the time the game was released.
They also originally left Lionhead.
