Forums - Sales - No Wiis in retail stores until February????

I think it drops to about 100k for about 2 weeks. I never said there would be zero, I just said a portion of the NA's normal Wii stock went to Japan the last 3 weeks and a Portion of Japan's went to US for the period starting black friday and ending the week before xmas

add me, the more the merrier.

My store got some last week and will get 12 in on the 25th of January, but any other lack of Wii's is due to the December surge, and the rain check deal for Game Stop where they HAVE TO meet the reserve numbers.

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

The amount airshipped for the holidays is impossible to know. But the effect of lower the supply that normally would come by boat is also hard to know. If massive amounts were airlifted, there could come a time in late Jan/Feb where no or very little shipments (via boat) are arriving.

I thought that the rain checks were only for Game Stop. If so, only Game Stop will show more outages than the rest, with most that it receives should be going to those that bought rain checks. Which appear to be already being redeemed.

But in a few weeks, should show where this year's bottom is for Wii, PS3 and X360. A month from Xmas last year showed where all three machines were to average out until the fall selling season started up for the big games coming out in time for the holidays.

Torturing the numbers.  Hear them scream.

That is the average NA sales during non-Nov/Dec months. If it sells at 100k per week its selling at normal rates.

If you're curious that number jumps to just over 146k if you include Nov/Dec.

I can't imagine finding one... Amazon sold 7 Wiis a second when they had them in... I don't know anything that goes that fast... sound ? light ?

In france a great shipment of Wii will arrive january 23th (see amazon.fr as well as other retailers)

But otherwise, no wiis everywhere (and that's why I don't understand vgchartz numbers as all the big retailers claim they didn't recieve any wiis since Xmas)

Put these together for anyone who is interested:

could be that the source for ioi numbers are mainly smaller shops and startups. Those tend to do bundles (because they are more or less forced to), or could be that only your region don't get any. The retail channel in my town is refilling from what I can see. We will know in 4 days where the Wii stands (Nintendo Quarter Report). My guess is, ioi has it a little to high. Well we will see, what they had shipped.

I am used to travel through FRance (thanks my boss!) so I can check Wii avaibility a little bit everywhere...well, Wii is extremely popular but all the big retail channels didn't recieve any wiis. However they expect some nice shipments end Januarty. I can't wait nintendo quarter results to check vgchartz numbers !

exemple : http://www.amazon.fr/Console-Nintendo-Wii-Sports-Pack/dp/B000UVI1G4/ref=pd_ts_vg_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames

Wii is listed number 2 in sales rank (after nintendo DS and miles ahead of the PS3 or the X360)

By the way are you from France too ?
