Roughly 45K first week in the UK - http://www.pocketgamer.biz/r/PG.Biz/...ws.asp?c=38346

"Week one Chart-Track figures reveal that Sony's new handheld device sold "around one quarter" of the number of the 185,000 PSP units shifted in the UK during its first week on sale back in September 2005.
Although exact data has not been publicly announced by either Chart-Track or Sony, industry sources have confirmed that the figure is "just over half" of the 89,000 sold by the Nintendo 3DS in its first week almost a year ago."

There are something way wrong with numbers here... 3DS sold 113k in UK first week.

You're right, that 89k indeed sounded strange to me but I thought I was misremembering. Maybe then this whole article is wrong.

Well... Patrick Garrett said that.

Just been told Vita’s sales figures for the UK. Strong. I can’t publish them because they’re owned by Chart-track, but it’s good.

It’s comparable to 3DS. Be interesting to see what Sony announces, because the Chart-track figure and the figure Nintendo finally announced for 3DS was very different.

I guess that 45k news is bullshit.

This article from pocketgamer seems wrong in every term... the Chart-Track figure shows PSV with similar 3DS launch numbers... 113k.

If you don't read both (Pocketgamer and Patrick Garrett) are quoting the same source (Chart-Track)... it's not like Nintendo vs. Chart-Track numbers... it's Chart-Track vs. Chart-Track.

One is wrong.

Another prof that 45k for UK seems like bullshit.

The minimum (worst case) using the Chart-track TOP40 is the Vita software sold 88k.

If the 45k is true the Vita sold 2 games per console at launch... no other console in the past managed this feat.

(from my post above) its probably about 200k U.S. and 275k Europe. I don't know how it's estimated from Europe=>UK though. But we should just wait for more official numbers. Heck other forums are saying that Sony is talking about SOLD to retailers  o_O.

And whats this talk about including pre-orders?

The PDF said "Actual sales is estimated by our study"... so I guess not sold to retailers.

And it's not "pre-orders"... it's "pre-sales"... I don't know what it means.

Good. That will shut the fanboys and haters up for a few weeks at least...

What are you talking about? This is excellent fodder for all trolls, so expect to see me in all Vita threads in the next couple of weeks.

Fitting since an anagram for your name is "Troll Appose B!"
